Properly conscreted temple would have energy flowing upwards during menstruation body energy is usually flowing downwards thats the reason for not going to temple during periods. Believe or not believe is upto you but the real reason is this. No not because of women are impure or temple becomes impure ....

I think we can do both. In ancient times why can't pray in the temple, not go to temple reason given by Satguru Ji. There is no reason to follow these now because we all have sanitation things.
