I have been experiencing the sense of mortality for the past few years when I fell ill. This sense is really creepy and scary. Sometimes I feel that I am getting mad and then I try to distract myself from that feeling and such thoughts. Many questions come in my mind about the afterlife, before birth, before the universe, after the universe, and so on. I just reject all these thoughts to keep myself look and behave sensefully. Earlier I used to meditate and it was a very grateful experience but after getting aware of this sense of mortality I have stopped doing meditation. Because meditation enhances that sense and I find myself helpless in handling these thoughts. I hope someday I will be able to start meditation again and would be able to direct this sense of mortality in a blissful direction.
