Ghora means "terrible." Aghori means that which is "beyond terrible." Shiva is an aghori - he is beyond the terrible. The terrible does not touch him, nothing repels him. The line at the end is very interesting 7:10 . The moment you like and dislike something, you begin to assign a hierarchy of values and at the top of your hierarchy of hierarchies of values is where your god resides (as a metaphor/idea) so the Aghori philosophy here seems to be something like flattening the hierarchy pyramid so you can work around the process of climbing step by step....even if this isn't the case it is interesting none the less.

I've done something similar and less Extreme as an American born in Upstate New York. There is a way about the Western World and since I was a young child without even knowing the corruption or the danger of the United States and its way of living, I could not understand why it was wrong, but I knew it was wrong and I chose to be obstinate of all of their ways and social standards and deliberately chose to live my life in terms that they regard as obscene or unfavorable. I did this until I learned who I am and I found myself in the mess of this toxic Western world. Then I learned to seek peace in my life because I don't want to break my skin and bones digging for water. Hearing about the aghoris people and understanding their way like I do even if it's only a glimpse of an understanding, this inspires me to share my story with more people. I think I'm going to work on that. Thank you for the inspiration. I think people need to understand this idea of learning to accept and forgive that which you hate or fear, I think this is the only way anyone can learn to understand themselves.

"Horror has a face, and you must make a friend of horror. Horror and moral terror are your friends; if they are not - then they are enemies to be feared. They are truly enemies." - Marlon Brando, Apocalypse Now. It's clear to me that the Aghori very much adopt this same mindset. They transcend the horrors of this world, and come to understand more primordial truths about existence.

I have felt a divine presence of our great Mahadev around Aghori Babas. Their practice of worship and the way of life can make a person uncomfortable but thats the way it is for them to reach the divine Shiva in themselves. I think Mahadev is the greatest teacher , he was also a wanderer looking for a path and he leaped above all.He is the universe and energies. But when Mahadev was in earth , his body was a shav( a dead decomposing body ) and he found means to live in the universe and here. He did tapasya and Sadhna of what he created and still they say that Mahakal is always in the deep state of meditation. He is the one controlling the universe . If one understand mother nature ,we can know that nature is always in the never ending transformative process. Aghoris did the same , they broke the chains of all materialistic ways and want to sustain themselves into the divine and extract those energies which lay around us, it makes them strong, visionary and a connection to their self and the supreme. All true Aghoris can survive anything, they can change self, the pattern and are holy people.

There is a 3 book series Aghora - by Robert E. Svoboda (a disciple of Aghora Vimalananda who was one of the greatest of his time) on the path of Aghora. It seems from the book that there is a class of modern Aghoris living amongst us who no one would even recognise as Aghoris because they somehow conceal their true identity from the society always. Also, after reading the 'Death' book by Sadhguru I felt like I was connecting some invisible dots when I read 'Aghora - At the left hand of God'.

@rajs40124 жыл бұрын
haha it's not a simple small thing, the main point of all these ashram's, Yoga centers, practices that Sadhguru has set up is that someday you will be able to reach the ultimate. Obviously I'm not there yet, and from what I understand the mental mind can't grasp it when being told, only through experience. So my suggestion to you is just stick to your instructed sadhana, stay fully dedicated and focused and hopefully you'll reach there.
