I knew a guy as a teen who was a huge player and always juggled several girls pitting them against eachother feeding his ego thinking he was "the man" soon after he became a Heroine addict and his life for years became about overcoming drugs. Just me personally but an open relationship just sounds like an easier way for someone to cheat without saying they're cheating, so they "label" it a different title. Not only that but it sounds way too stressing. It can be tough dealing with one person imagine more than one. Also energy is real, exchanging your energy with others can have consequences, one shouldn't screw with energy it's what balances us. If someone gets in a relationship with someone who doesn't have good energy and then it's exchanged from person to person that can create a whole new world of imbalance, negativity. one must carefully , intelligently, and rationally consider all possible outcomes that follow from a particular path taken in life, both positive and negative, and come to a rational decision about how to live the life that makes personal sense to them. When taking less common paths in life that most people don't choose, the ability to foresee all possible outcomes becomes exceedingly difficult (because of lack of living examples to draw from), and therefore, should never be taken lightly. The worst case scenario must always be considered, and that takes courage to envision. the important thing is to never behave like a victim and blame others, but to live with the consequences of your choices courageously and with full personal responsibility for whatever you choose.

Having a multiple Partner is always a choice. But if you really reach the ability to think with consciousness you'll know that having a one partner is better than having many partners. Consciousness meaning having to understand the pros and con of your choice or decisions. As a human being with freedom to choose I can have a multiple partners, but since I am conscious I choose not due to all the consequences it may give you, Like putting your original partner into miserable life due to jealousy, anger, pain and hurt, all kind of demands from different partners, you only limit your self freedom if you have multiple partners and plus the so called diseases. The way to decide whether someone has multiple partners or no partners is IF THAT WANT TO, if someone is Asexual Aromantic, then they won't marry. If someone wants a monogamous relationship, they'll marry the person they want to marry. In a place where we can view history, scroll through trials and errors we can see the toll placed on these values. Overpopulation, peoples qualities of life goes down. They are living together now, and every one in my family are leaving in monogamy. 3of my cousin sister's are married and they are happy in their relationship. I think the way people think about jealousy is odd. Why do you assume to own those you love? That's what jealousy is really, you have an expectation of ownership over that thing, and when that ownership is called into question, anxiety is generated. Why can't you just let go of your perceived ownership of others and love wholly and unconditionally? I know people say jealousy is human nature but I think that's reductive to the vastly different expressions and forms that humans come in. I have felt jealousy but that is not something I should blame on society, or my inherent human qualities. I should blame it on myself for being possessive and learn to love better without boundaries and ownership. I appreciate this mans perspective but I disagree that opening up to multiple different people is damaging in the way he describes it. The different perspectives you learn, the powerful connections you make with those you love are incredibly valuable to your health and becoming a healthy and happy human being. Conneection to others to me is everything that there is to enjoy in life, and those connections should be made without boundaries and without ownership.

I agree. How did you learn to "love without boundaries and ownership"? I recently met a lady who wants to be ethically non monogamous. I can rationalize the "non ownership". We are one from the one source. My feelings don't...yet....maybe? I realize jealousy is a construct of my mind, insecurities and conditioning. Thus I shouldn't put another in a cage (boundaries, rules) to soothe my ego. As I write this I realize that I let my ego/fears/insecurities dominate the mind. I believe sharing energy with as many people as possible it brings us all closer together. Gives us more understanding of one another. Also sharing relationships gives the more isolated people a chance to link to others emotionally. Jealousy is an instinct, which we can choose to replace with love. Often those that are the most possessive and jealous have a real fear of being deserted. If it is a true poly relationship not just one-to-many but many-to-many everyone has others to rely on emotionally, spiritually, and in daily life, the fear of losing a partner is less intense, not more.

I disagree. Women shouldn't have multiple partners. Men if they want can afford and can spend equal amounts of time with each partner should in today's society. Too many partners can only afford the time to make ends meet. Meanwhile a man with two wives can allow the women to look after the children and take care of the house hold duties (which most women crave). It also keeps women honest and faithful to their man.

Having something for yourself ESPECIALLY when you and the other partner agrees is NOT egotistical at all. And there is a way to be in a Monogamous relationship without any strong attachment! This is coming from a Person that has been in a relationship with ONE person for years and everything is still doing its things successfully! Some people just feel comfortable sharing their Intimate-Romantic energy to only one person! Its okay having things to and for yourself. Its not egotistical and it actually quit healthy for you. Not really. I am with one person and I have been with that ONE person for YEARS!! Still good, understanding, trusting and we stick to our morals. I get why people would choose multiple others, but I have witness people trying it out and their emotional stability and mental health kind of rotten when they tried to be with multiple partners! I feel having multiple partners is good for reproduction (though you could do that with one) but I have learned that a lot of people that I have been around with in my life dont want "One sided love". They want the full package and just some people dont feel comfortable or spiritually okay with being intimate with soo many people. Your giving all of that Romantic-Intimate energy to ALL different kinds of people and sometimes that can bring to depression, loss of identity, feeling grossed out with themselves, and they feel its immorally wrong (which a lot of polys i know experienced). At the end people have different taste and maybe Monogamy aint for everbody just like Poly aint for everybody! Pros and Cons to both things! I am Monogamous though but I understand why people consider poly. Its just not Spiritual right for me to do and I had reasons. But I respect what u said.
