Sadie welcomes author and pastor of Zoe Church Chad Veach to the podcast. Chad shares why worrying is never the answer and why you need to stop "manifesting" - instead of looking to "the universe" for answers, why not focus on the One who created the universe? Sadie and Chad outline practical steps for how to start praying if that's not part of your daily life and remind us that the point of prayer is to connect with God. Prayer is an invitation into intimacy, so we can talk to Him like a friend! Chad also walks us through what he's learned about the physical ways your brain is transformed when you regularly pray. Prayer helps us get a new perspective. And remember: God doesn't want anything from you, He wants YOU. Your relationship with God is exactly that - a relationship!

I have severe death anxiety and sometimes I question what happens after we die. I don’t doubt God, but sometimes my fear completely takes over and it causes insomnia a lot of nights. About a year ago I was in a really dark place and had lost God completely, but found him in that darkness. Things got so much better and I feel as if I’m finally on the right path, but now that things are good I feel I’ve put my relationship with God on the back burner. Tonight my death anxiety was at an all time high, but instead of struggling with it, I listened to a sermon from Sadie. It was her testimony about holding Gods hand throughout every part of life, not just in prayer or on Sundays. It was exactly what I needed and it calmed me down instantly. For those struggling with anxiety, I pray you remember that God is always with you, through the bad and the good days. ❤ thank you sadie for continuously bringing me back to God and thank you God for bringing me to her 💕 I’m sorry for the days that I doubt you and I hope that you can forgive me.

I love he mentions "so many people almost have real understanding if they'd just turn the dial". It's a point a lot of Christians don't like to hear when we have folks who don't even open the Holy Book.

@@vivianacordero7805 I do. I have researched it for myself. I love scripture. I believe we are supposed to live in victory. People accepting lack, sorrow and sickness isn't victory to me. I figured something had to be missing in the conventional Christian "formula". I don't believe God allows bad things. That is my own conclusion after a godless life, choosing a church based/Baptist doctrine as an adult, to my current state.

@@TEM14411 We must “meditate” on HIS word alone and experience the “manifestation” of HIS glory and goodness. The world’s definitions of meditation and manifestation are not in alignment to what The Word is speaking about them. Also yes the church is missing something, and that’s THE FULLNESS OF HIS PRESENCE. We’ve grown stagnant in hunger and pursuit of The Lord’s presence, He’s designed us to go from glory to glory (which just means experiencing Him at greater levels) maybe this is what you felt you were missing.

Great podcast. However, I wish they went deeper into manifesting and called it out as it exactly is. You’re right, It’s not biblical. It’s not a form of prayer. It is not only a false and self focused teaching that is very popular in this day and culture, not only that but but it’s pure witchcraft! That’s all I have to say. Otherwise it was a full conversation and will definitely be one that people go back to as Sadie said 👏🏻

I needed to see and hear this conversation! This is literally one of my favorite interviews, I've ever seen. Just knowing that God wants to talk to me and I can talk to him not just as he's my Holy Father but he's my friend. Like there is certain things you may not tell or communicate to your parents but you will share a lot of things with your friends. I don't want just speak to God formally, I wanna be completely vulnerable because he sees everything and all of me. With that being said thank you both for this amazing podcast. I hope it reaches many others. I love you all ❤️

Keep up the good work, Sadie! Last few interviews I've seen been fun. Yeah, new age talk did have some sway in some places over last few decades. I can't imagine that lasting much longer - but then again MOST ignorant things find a way to stay around. (Like, "transhumanism" what? Sounds so ignorant to me.) It really is about the work of the Holy Spirit. Any "manifesting" we do is more like our character "manifesting" itself to others in our day-to-day WORK causing things to "manifest" themselves back at us.

You bring up a great point! I think that touches on a deeper conversation most Christians are not ready to have. At the end of the day, it all comes down to gratefulness and trust - be that in “God” or “Universe” or however you choose to address such powers at be leading you to what you desire. I have noticed Christians like to to use labels as moral high grounds similar to the way they did in this interview. Semantics are also used to demonize one from the other. Praying does not make you better than someone who manifests! It’s simply a matter of word play. There are many amazing KZbinrs who touch on “scripting” which is essentially what you were referencing Sadie having done. Think about people who write their prayers down! Is that not similar to scripting?! Just some food for thought, you made a really good comment.

@@isabellegray987 technically speaking one of the definitions of manifest is to prove or show evidence, but this can be taken in different ways. there are a lot a lot of people right now that believe or that want to believe, they can make what they want to happen by taking it. If you say I am going to be a girl boss, a millionaire, lose weight, etc. there's a difference between then taking action because you've motivated yourself by speaking out about it and writing it down and believing that just the act of saying it will actually make it happen. I think it's a way that a lot of people have tried to reduce their own anxiety. But the problem is that is not how God functions with us in the world. We can pray and ask for certain things but he's not always going to give it. There is something to writing things down and speaking them out to remind yourself if that is what your goal is and not to get distracted by other things so in that sense gold planning is awesome and you are technically manifesting your goals or proving them by taking action and part of that is speaking about them but the actor speaking alone cannot make anything happen, and I think there are a lot of young people very confused about that You might heart have seen people talk about this in your circles but it's all over Instagram and I think it's kind of dangerous and will lead people to disappointment or even if Christians start doing it they're going to start to be disillusioned by God because they think he's lost doing something that he never said he would do🤷‍♀️ so I agree with you but also I think it's important that we talk about it and make sure people know. I really wish that they would've been a little Eden clear about this in their conversation that even asking God for some thing does not mean that it is going to happen. We have to make sure to compare everything people say regardless of who we think they are to scripture because that is the ultimate source.

1 John 4:16-18 KJVS [16] And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. [17] Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. [18] There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. Definition for the word torment. Thayer's Definition 1. correction, punishment, penalty Being made perfect in love entails that we trust God and love God enough to realize that everything we are going through, is for our perfection. Hebrews 5:7-9 KJVS [7] Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; [8] Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; [9] And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

I did a show on magic in real life on Journey to truth and I explained it’s much better to just ask God for the best outcome and be surprised with his results because if you do many manifesting techniques it might not be my God I want it for you and you’ll pay for it. It’s always better to go to prayer rather than difficult. But it’s our responsibility to know what we are defending against and to look into it. Not to practice it not to worship it but you know of it. On that show I cover all basic alchemy (people are holding Mercury to communicate which is one of the oldest spells known to Egypt to call people out for using magic as they’re using magic.) We all use 20 different magic spells by 10 am made by these dark Lord’s daily and don’t even realize it. WE KNOW NOT WHAT WE DO . Thank goodness only God can judge and not people on KZbin.

I think we need to be careful with using faith and manifesting interchangeably as terms that go together. I hear a lot in culture “ I am speaking out in faith” or “i am naming it and claiming it in faith” this ideology confuses faith and manifesting. Manifesting is the idea that you can bring a positive outcome into your life by simply “claiming” it as your own and believing it will happen. Manifesting is first and foremost idolatry because you’re not believing in God for the outcome and secondly biblical faith isn’t claiming something as your own and hoping it will come true. Hebrews 11:1 Faith shows the reality of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (NLT) Faith is confidently trusting in God for the outcome of things hoped for but the evidence of things not seen. Also, without Faith it is impossible to please God because without trusting or believing in him there is no real relationship with him. An act of faith requires the Holy Spirit because we cannot do things in our strength. It is the Holy Spirit that empowers us to do the works of God. We are only vessels in which God’s power flows through us.
