Users can spot a kind person from a mile away and take full advantage of it. It's happened to me more than once. I'm still a kind person but I've learned to look for red flags before getting too close to someone.

The fact that Vicky spent only nine years in jail and showed no remorse is a slap in the face for Rick and his family this woman should never have been released Not only did she abuse this man she was in a relationship with, she also disrespected him in front of everyone. The fact that she chose to act with violence showed how little she cared about him she did not even love him if she did she would not have done the things she did to him she was never deserving of Rick and she knew it he was such a nice guy who deserved way better than her if only he found the courage to leave her sooner things might have worked out differently for him.

And I wish women victims of DV were believed. Most of us are supportive of men who have been abused by women. And the days when men would lose their children just because they walk away are over. Most courts now defer to joint custody. We aren’t ever going to change the world to a place that EVERYONE supports all victims. But things are better than they have ever been. The important thing is to get the word out to all victims that they will have support if they step forward. So my message is the opposite of yours. My message is that male victims and female victims really can get lots of support if they step forward.

The second case was maybe one of the most horrible things I ever saw in such a show. This was a whole different level of abusive behavior... It is especially sad to me, that abuse towards men is still considered a weakness of that men instead of helding the abusing women accountable for what she is doing. No one, no matter their gender, intelligence, religion or whatever else, should fear to reach out for help, just because some people think they are entitled to look down to the victim. Women can be as mean and dangerous as men, sometimes maybe even more horrible. And we all can become victims of abuse.

Ladies, we also need to let the men in our lives know that no woman should treat them like this. There's a shameful stigma against men in DV situations and they need to know we'll be there when he's ready to leave.

And as relations, mothers, sisters, fathers, brothers, we should keep an eye on what’s going on with our family members and their relationships. If anyone had called in to visit Andrew, they’d have seen he was battered and bruised. So sad. It’s hard to believe their are “humans” out their with no hearts who can do this.

Why did that last cop suggest thay Anton would have still likely gone to prison even if he hadn't met Christine? The answer is obvious, especially since it was 'down south.'😅

Well it was a very rural area judging by google maps and I always remember what Holmes once said to Watson during one of their cases (" When you see the rural houses, you just see peace and quiet, meanwhile I cannot help but notice how nobody could hear the crimes commited in those isolated houses") So maybe it was a combination of a fairly isolated house and a victim that had no big social circle and therefore not many possible people checking up on him. 😅

It was a terraced house I believe with houses attached to the house of horrors either side and therefore not an isolated property so I daresay neighbours did hear things but chose not to get involved..none of my business sort of thing.

Injuries - Due to the abuse, Andrew suffered 21 fractured ribs. He had burn marks on his neck and back, a fractured skull and his feet had been scolded. This was later likened to that of injuries from a car crash. He had been held against a scorching radiator and made to sleep on newspapers. He had also been whipped with a towel. He also had cuts on his body from a kitchen knife. The trio had also encouraged the children to carve/play a game of naughts and crosses on his back with a pointed object. Clare ripped/destroyed Andrew’s pockets so he couldn’t sneak food in them. Andrew’s mother remembers seeing her son when Andrew went to see her, he seemed ‘’unhappy’’ and skinny. Andrew died from the torture. Simon called the police claiming that ‘’his mate had gotten into a fight’’. The trio was arrested and charged. Clare was sentenced to serve a minimum of 32 years before being considered for parole. Simon was sentenced to serve a minimum of 25 years before being considered for parole. Steven was sentenced to serve a minimum of 20 years before being considered for parole. During the trial, Clare was seen joking with Steven in the docks. It is believed that Andrew refused to run, out of the love for his daughter. Andrew’s mother Jean called the trio evil to their faces in court which the trio looked at her smugly in return.

This show has taught me so much about abusive women. I'm mindful now when I see a female being aggressive towards others. Be it her S/o or her kid(s)! In her actions or tone of voice, too! I rarely see/hear about women "snapping" on abusive husbands, BF's, adult children, or even pimps. They seem to muster the courage to act up & act out, mostly on ppl, afraid of them. Real cowards, I tell ya, reeeal cowards. Men are included in this assessment, too, just so ya know. But the show is about women, so that's my focus.
