I swapped out my Noiseless 4 and Fender Pre on the Elite for the Sadowsky premap and Lollar pickups. Together they are fantastic.

When will more drop in preamps with the VTC be available?
@kingsx9252 жыл бұрын
they already are.... Just finding one is the problem. I bought two of them and put them in my Sadowsky Metro express bass, since those basses don't come with the VTC. There must be a production problem with warwick.
@randombassplayer_072 жыл бұрын
@@kingsx925 I have the metro express and I got the vtc to put on the metro express. I bought a drop in plate, and the vtc worked better on that one.

Why would you turn it clockwise to select the back pickup and counterclockwise to select the front pickup?

If during a gig the battery dies, can I still change it to passive mode and bypass the pre amp?
@SadowskyInstrumentsOfficial27 күн бұрын
Yes you can! For the version without the VTC you just have to pull the bass knob and for the preamp with the VTC control, the VTC knob serves as a push/pull knob to bypass the preamp.

Does the volume control still work in passive mode?
@SadowskyInstrumentsOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Hi Donald, it does.

I have a quick question about the Sadowsky pre-amp. When you're changing between active and passive, does doing this cause much of a volume difference between active or passive? I know I'm some instruments there's a huge change, and on others there's almost none.
@EvertAlbers Жыл бұрын
Yes, going from passive to active gives a significant volume boost on the onboard preamp, on my MetroExpress at least.

Why do I get noise when treble boost or VTC passes about 80%? I have an older MIJ metroline
@SadowskyInstrumentsOfficial Жыл бұрын
Hi William! You asked right at the right time! This is an "issue" we will adress next week in an upcoming video and all the information on that topic will be provided then. As to provide you a "quick fix" for right now, it is important to understand that the Sadowsky preamp is "boost only", meaning that when engaged it adds to the "flat" passive sound, dialing back the knobs will reduce the added boost until "flat" or normal passive sound (in other words). A fully cranked treble then means that you added the full range of boost to your signal. This is only recommended when you use a vintage cab or amp which don't have that much treble to begin with, so you are able to add treble if needed. Modern cabs often feature tweeters, so an extra treble boost from the preamp is not needed to that extent. If the treble from your amp is too high, it can also add to the signal. Roger Sadowsky recommends to boost the treble by only about 60% and only crank it up more if neither amp head nor cab can provide the needed amount of treble. So the key is really to find the right balance between preamp treble, amp head treble and tweeter treble. Hope this was helpful! Make sure you tune in next week and get all the information on it.

@@SadowskyInstrumentsOfficial that’s so awesome to heart reply overnight thanks! I do use a Markbass TTE 500 and matching cab that has a tweeter! I sometimes use an AER acoustic guitar amp for it’s small to carry and gives full range. That explains a lot . What puzzles me is the noise or hum is less when I face certain direction so was perplexed if it was magnetic field related issues. (Note: last I had issue was rainy and humidity was high)

Is there an on/off passive switch so the bass will still play if the battery runs out?
@SadowskyInstrumentsOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Yes, as stated in the video the Vintage Tone Control pot also functions as push/pull knob to switch between active and passive mode. You will be able to play, even if the battery runs out.

What is so special about the VTC vintage tone control?
@paulmcclenaghan12292 жыл бұрын
Nothing.... Marketing' its just a Tone control...
@SadowskyInstrumentsOfficial2 жыл бұрын
4:04: The VTC combines a standard tone control which works in both passive and active mode to adjust treble to your liking, with a push-pull active/passive mode selector (instead of having a dedicated toggle switch in addition to the knob). You can actually boost treble on the peamp and cut highs with the VTC at the same time.
