Yes. As part of your rehab, it will help keep the calf muscle stretched as this can tighten if the foot isn't lifting , and help build muscle strength to lift the foot. It isn't a device you would wear to go out walking all day with.

You can use it with foot or arm paralysis (as as there is an intact nerve pathway), eg stroke, head injury, incomplete spinal injury
