Studies have shown that FES cycling training improves motor function and accelerates the recovery of functional limb movements. In a rehabilitation setting, it is used for a variety of conditions, including stroke.

Is there a statute of limitations on this kind of therapy? Of course sooner would be preferred to later but is there a time period after a stroke whereafter no progress can be achieved?

No one really has a timeline as to how long one can see progress. And no one knows how much recovery one will get either. It definitely varies from person to person, and the types of stroke one has sustained. The newer theory of thought (as opposed to many years ago) is that we have a longer window of time for recovery post stroke. Our out patient dept sees patients that are months and even years post stroke for various reasons.

This could work better when they agree to use MORE electronic stimulation for nerve and muscle repair. We are electrical beings and THAT is why it works. The current version of “healthcare” only looks at the human body and this is only the avatar.... it’s not all of who and what we are. I’m in treatment now and even the food is processed and unhealthy..... so unstimulating... much like moving freakin plastic bottles from one bowl to the next! Cognitive skills go far deeper than that! More electricity is needed in rehabilitation.... not just here and there! We ARE out of the stone age!! Just my experience with this!👁
