Saeco Incanto HD8917 deep cleaning / dismount + solenoid valve repair

In this video I explain how to mount (so also dismount) the Saeco Incanto HD8917 automatic cofee machine after having cleaned it very well.
Issue to resolve: the machine was not providing the normal amount of coffee as normal, but only some drops were coming out even after the full deep cleaning / descaling etc. described in the manual. Hence I had to dismount and remove the dirt inside the machine manually.
Update of 14/05/2023:
After many years from this video, I found my Saeco Incanto working as expected from the coffee point of view, but no hot water or steam was coming from the outlet on the left! Together with this issue I found the water coming out in the dripping plate.
I dismounted the caffee machine as usual in this video and I just found that everything was working fine internally and it looks like just that the solenoid valve does not release the water.
To resolve this issue I found a very good person who explained how to dismount the electric valve - you can find the video here: • Saeco Philips solenoid...
You can find the video very useful trom 2 minutes onward where this person explains why the machine release constantly the water because the valve is stuck at open state (up). My issue was the same but opposite: since I didn't use the valve for years, the valve inside was completely stuck.
I followed his advice to dismount the valve and I found that the piston inside was completely stuck. So unblock it I just used a needle to try to move it left or right and when it got unstuck I removed and I just added some water around. After this operation I cloded everything and the machine started to work again.

Thank you! You saved my coffee life. After 4 years of used, and i didn't use an ungrease procedure ,only calc, the coffee acumulated and got dry hard into the front part, not allowing proper coffee run through the two "exits". I managed to clean everything, unmounting and mounting back the machine, thanks to your video.

Ciao Luca, sto provando a smontare la macchina (hd8917/01) ma non riesco a rimuovere la manopola di regolazione del macinino. Tirando forte verso l'alto non si sgancia e ho paura di rompere l'albero. C'è qualche dettaglio che mi sfugge? Grazie Trovata la soluzione.... Sulla mia la manopola è montata sul gruppo del coperchio. Sollevando il coperchio la manopola viene rimossa assieme.

There is a yellow "lever" near the grinder, you need to push it and rotate it

hi, thanks for your video. I have a problem. The coffee grind is coarse even though the regulator is set to minimum. Is it possible to draw even more of the grinding from the inside?

Hi Stefano, I didn't get exactly, maybe you can explain me in italian :) If I understood correctly the grinder is too tight even at minimum. If this is correct, I believe you can open the machine and untight the grinder manually since the regulation from outside is blocked by a plastic stopper, but inside the machine you can do it. (I believe I did the same mistake once and I tighter it a bit more)

@@lucatrombin1846 Wasser kommt nur aus Dampf.. heißes Wasser kommt aus der warmwasserabteilung, aber das Wasser kommt nicht von dort, wo der Kaffee fließt, es kommt nicht zum Kaffee. Der Kaffee wird gemahlen, der Kaffee wird gepresst, dann nimmt er das Wasser und nimmt den Kaffee nicht heraus, entleert den gemahlenen Kaffee in einen leeren Raum, stoppt das Mahlen und erkennt, dass Kaffee nicht von wo Kaffee und Wasser kommen sollte

Luca, do you have any recommendations as to what may be wrong If I continue to get the dreaded "out of bean" error? Half way through my brew, I get an error indicating the beans are out (hopper is full), and it stops brewing. I also get really wattery coffee pucks...is this normal for these machines?

Hi, I don't know what is the issue, but for sure it is not normal that your machines gives you the "out-of-bin" error almost all the time even if you have beans ... the only one issue can be that the hole is not clean and your beans gets stuck ... did you buy cheap / not so dry beans ?

Hi Alexandru, unfortunately I dismounted first and then I realized that it's better to make a video for everyone, so I don't have the video where I'm dismounting. But if you follow the mounting one in reverse order it is exactly the same procedure. In case you are stuck maybe I can help you here.

I am having trouble removing the front cover (the shiny part with that fits over the screen). Must be some plastic clips holding it in (it is where you hit it with a fist to click it back in). What technique can be used to get it off with breaking clips?

Hi Federico, sorry but I dismounted and then I realized that it's better to make a video because it's very complicated. I didn't made the dismount video because it took for me half day to understand how to it (and I don't want to repeat the same experience to make a video sorry :) ). If you follow the video backwards you can dismount, it is exactly the same procedure.
