Safari's Unbeaten 14" Pancake Stack Challenge

Visiting the town of Banbridge in Northern Ireland, we stopped into a place called Safari to take on a couple of their undefeated challenges. I went up against their 14" Pancake Stack Challenge and Randy went up against their undefeated Full Soda Challenge! I had just 30 minutes to eat 3 14" pancakes weighing it at well over a pound EACH, and loaded with 5 bananas, 2 punnets of strawberries, 2 punnets of blueberries, a liter of whipped cream, and lots of maple syrup! Winners earn their meal for free, a groovy t-shirt, and a spot up on Safari's Wall of Fame!

Props to Safari for not making you eat sketchy pancakes! I can only imagine how hard cooking 14" pancakes would be and those suckers were fluffy too. And omw, you finished those, I can only make it through 1 normal pancake before I am miserable. It feels like they expand in your tummy. Pancake coma for Katina.

More like its their responsibility to provide them cooked properly as they held the challenge and if not for the crowd warning off eating raw batter, I think no way the establishment would have cared if she suffered, got sick. I wouldn't eat there, that's a 100% fact.

I imagine cooking pancakes that big would be super tricky. They're basically cake cakes when that big and a griddle is not ideal. But everyone handled it great.

I used to make 22 inch pancakes to promote the brunch menu for my bosses. Low and slow on the griddle then into a 650 degree pizza oven for a minute. So much fun seeing everyone’s reaction 😊

I truly do not understand how she appears so slim and well. My husband ate six pancakes I had made then consumed another batch that his aunt brought over. He ended up in hospital that night. I have never ever made pancakes in the following forty five years. My admiration for Katina is endless.

An entertaining vid, but my favorite part was the beginning and seeing Big Randy rocking a Scally cap. Ireland is one of the parts of the world to find a good Scally at. I have a few and all but one were purchases here at home in the USA. The other came from Scotland and it's a quilted patch pattern like his. I hope to have one from Ireland someday.
