I didn't think it was possible to respect Beard more than I already do. Taking the time out of his challenge to invite the kid into the frame, and talk to him like he's just another one of the guys shows outstanding class and sportsmanship. That kid's day was made, and he'll be showing his friends "that one eating challenge video I'm in" for years. As a parent, this is exactly the kind of internet celebrity I'd want my kids to engage with. In a sea of negative influences, Beard manages to be an effortless example of kindness and respect. This is so amazing to watch. Me and my family used to travel for work and stayed in Vermont for over a year. While we were there we ate at papa Pete’s almost every week and when I saw the front of the building I was like wait….then you went inside and I sent pictures to my family telling them. Of all the challenges I've seen on your channel, this one is maybe the most dense one. Lady is wrong. It's not that buttermilk expands, but carbs and starch do. That's why you keep failing these all pancake challenges. You soak them in syrup, and drink a lot of water with them. It makes the bread swell up in your stomach. Meat and vegetables don't do that.

@Getorix Lady is not wrong at all, of course buttermilk expands in your stomach acid. This swells the pancake pretty fast and much more than water or syrup will do. Just facts!🙄😵‍💫

I love pancakes, but NEVER cooked any of that size. I considered mine to me like a meal since I've added fruit, nuts, and even certain meats in my batter. Most local restaurants I've patronized around the nation would brag about how "big" their pancakes were, but it's no contest; THESE are nice sized pancakes. Sounds like I'm going to have to visit this Vermont town. Hopefully I can get a trip close by. Lol!

Hey Adam... If you ever do another pancake challenge you should put the syrup, plenty, in between the layers first. That way by the time you get to the next layer it's soaked in & softer...mushy almost. 👍

The syrup itself fills the stomach. When I have pancakes, I only use a very thin layer of strawberry jam on top of them. And a lot of coffee.
