You are such a beautiful blessing! Thank you so much for explaining these important med-math steps. I've used the formula method, but I am sold on the dimensional analysis method. I can everything clearly. I will continue to review your videos. I am excited about this. Thanks so much!

Thank you so much for the very kind comment :) I love dimensional analysis over the formula method because (for me) it decreases the chances of making a mistake. I'm so happy you like it too. Thank you for using my videos to help you review. Best wishes in your studies!

@nursecw21288 жыл бұрын
I get it now!! After arriving at the 2 answers , the nurse should see that o.06-0.09 is the range that should be given!! And the doc's order was exceeding the given 2 answer range. I thought perhaps the answers were less than the order, then that was fine...now I get it, the order is not in that range!! And this is why my 1st degree in teaching is reading/English😜 and NOT math!! LOL!! I am doing great and making sure I stay well abreast and ahead on the math! Thanks again!! What about a video on how to be active/participate at clinical??? I know you have a lot of videos, but honestly, I would watch, make note, and review any-remakes included!!
@RegisteredNurseRN8 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Yeah, I can definitely see where it can get confusing. These problems are tricky. Yes, I feel you about the math thing which is why I'm glad nursing school doesn't have a lot of it. I very much dislike geometry, algebra, calculus etc. I will definitely consider doing a video on this topic. Thanks for the idea.

@AmanVerma-hx3bm2 жыл бұрын
I got my concept clear .. thanks 👍
@nursecw21288 жыл бұрын
Great job Sara!! I liked these problems..I have gotten a better understanding of dimensional analysis..the children dosage is somewhat different..since it is body surface area...and kids dosages will range differently from adults. I do have one question..the last problem..it's not a safe range? the 0.06-0.09 is this range not less than what was ordered..0.92? Perhaps, I am not quite following the actual safe range part of the question. Thanks for your on time and always on point videos..they help and assist a lot!! Thanks!!!
@RegisteredNurseRN8 жыл бұрын
Hello :) Thank you so much for your feedback! I always appreciate it. I hope the semester is going good for you! In regards to your question, no this isn't a safe dose for this patient who weighs 16 lbs. They need a dose between 0.06-0.09 mg and the doctor has ordered 0.92 mg (which is too much for this child based on their weight). 0.92 is greater than 0.09 mg. For safe dosage problems, if what the doctor orders is below or exceeds what is ordered it is not a safe dose. I hope that makes sense. Great question by the way :)

@RegisteredNurseRN8 жыл бұрын

Hello there, I am in the nursing program here Palm Desert, Ca. next Monday we will be tested in pediatric calculations and I did your helpful quizzes, but somehow the numbers I get in question seven does not match your answers. I did it twice and still not matching. Helppp
@RegisteredNurseRN8 жыл бұрын
Hello! What may be confusing you is that the question asks what is the max dose the patient can have per DAY...so you have to take it a step further and multiple the amount per dose by 4 doses because the patient can have it every 6 hours. Dimensional analysis should look something like this: 52 lb x 1 kg x 15 mg = 354.54 mg every 6 hour 1 2.2 lb 1 kg 354.54 x 4 doses = 1,148 mg/DAY
