Really helpful for someone that's new to investing, thank you! Are we saying the best strategy (if we can accept the risks) is to go to 100% stocks? I'd always been 60/40 and just about braving myself to move to 80/20, but this video is tempting me to go all in

The best portfolio for you is the one you can stick with long term and avoid making mistakes like market timing and selling when(not if) the inevitable downturn comes. But also remember your nhs pension is a very safe investment so you could make an argument for being more adventurous with your other investments. Not advice. DYOR or come on one of our courses.

Could you do a section on ethical investing? How can we avoid investing in areas damaging global public health?

Great question! One of our very first podcasts was on ethical investing and there’s quite a few ESG funds now. But green washing is rife!

@@MedicsMoney Seriously though this channel should be more widely shared, even though i'd regard myself as a doc who knows a bit about investing etc. already

I would love to know which globally diversified fund you invest in.

🙏 There’s an section of the industry that don’t want drs to understand this stuff. But slowly we are educating and informing drs so they can avoid the poorly trained overpriced financial salespeople preying on the financial naivety of medical students. 👍

And I’d love to tell you but the fca might not like that. But tbh there’s probably about 10 different funds that satisfy our criteria of low cost, global diversification with no tilt to a specific sector or country. 👍pick one and stick with it for the long haul.
