Very good video Pascal!! I also have the same Alpha Delta Antenna Switch and when I was researching manual Antenna switches it was the best I could find and it having the ability to ground all antenna ports not in use is a great feature!! I originally purchased the switch for my two HF radios but now use it to switch between my Icom 9700 (which I am really enjoying) and my TYT TH-9800 Quad Band Radio! And also To kind of full proof not accidentally transmitting on one of the two radios I just mentioned I have a system where I have a 3M sticky Note 📝 that says “CONNECT COAX” and I stick that on the front of the radio that is not connected through the Alpha Delta Switch and when I switch I move the sticky note to the other radio..... it might seem a bit tacky but it works for me....and the sticky note does not leave any residue on the radios!! Oh by the way I am not sure if you are aware of Eric (Who has the KZbin Channel HamRadioConcepts KJ4YZI) but he holds a D-Star Net on Saturday Evenings at .9pm EST on REF078A you might want to check it out it would be great to hear you check-in!! 73’s from Florida K4BBC Chris

Hi Chris, I know Eric and I knew that he holds a net on D-Star, didn't know when or where, thanks for the info. As long as you have a setup that works for you, that's the most important thing, I'm kind of goofy and a sticky note would not work for me, hihi. 73 Pascal VA2PV

Hoy can use same antenna to feed at the same time all your HF receivers with a proper splitter, so you can compare your radios. This is what í do. And you can use a relay to disconet all when you tx. It is very safe and it allows you to enjoy all your antennas and trasnceivers or receivers.
@Astro25man2 жыл бұрын
Can you explain how you do this? I am trying to do the same thing, 2 hf radios on both antennas.
@jareguiky2 жыл бұрын
@@Astro25man Just use the tx out of your transceiver to start a relay to disconet the antena Infantil the Other transceiver. You need two. When you transmit the Other receiver stops receiving

Hello Pascal, instead of using a device like the Ameritron, can I use 2 Alpha Delta switches ? I know I have to pay for the extra coax but was just wondering. Thanks for all your advice.

I'm in the process of moving to 4.5 acres and I will be able to set up multiple types of antennas. Is it possible to have one switch where all antennas use one remote turner at an outside feed point near them and have only one LMR 400 feed line to the shack? (cost saving of only buying one expensive remote tuner) I like the idea of having a remote turner and only feeding a low SWR signal in and a low-losspalm

Every time I enjpoy your videos!!! For people like me want use 2 tx at same time I can suggest ACOM A2S works perfect with yaesu (made fot it millone ft1000) kenwood electaft and all radio that have "TX Inhibit” so for Icom must use tansverter signal or make another mod (modern Icom that have "External Keypad" feature like IC-7610 that is documented on p. 13-4 have mute function that rx/tx inhibit) 73 de IZ3QVB

Hi Pascal. First, your shack is far too tidy and you make the rest of us look bad. Second, how do you find time to operate and somehow manage to keep such a pristine shack? It's like you're a surgeon getting ready to operate with your instruments all lined up just so :-) (I mean no offense....I'm just jealous!)

Hi Ed, thanks for your comments. I've been improving my shack in the last few years but before that it was very simple. I've been a ham for the past 28 years and for the first 20 years I was only dreaming of high-end gear and I remember thinking, I would never be able to afford what I really want. Having a successful career, I can now spend a little more, I guess this is the only good thing about getting old, hihi. Sometime in life dream come true and I hope to make my viewers dream as much as I did, and still do! No matter what rig you own, being active is what is most important as the bands we are using worth billion dollars for commercial applications. 73 Pascal VA2PV

@@1crazynordlander In the HF bands, many first harmonics are on another band, 3.5 MHz (80M) = first harmonic is 7.000 (40M), and 14 MHz for 20M... and 28 MHz for 10M... VHF is 144 MHz and UHF is 440 MHz.

I definitely like the idea of bringing only one coax in, but because I'm nuts (lol), I'm worried if there is a catastrophic failure at the switch, then I could be off the air. Be that as it may, I'd like to be able to run Digital HF while using SSB on another HF rig. What is the solution there or is it just not possible? Great video - thanks! 73, N3QXX.

Hi, if you own a large piece of land you can set antennas far away from each other and install external bandpass filters to protect your equipment. Technically I don't think it will be possible to operate two rig on the same band even with separate antenna. Since I'm not in this situation, I didn't study the case as it's not possible for me on my 6500-square-foot lot. Try to participate to your local club field day, coming soon, and see how they operate the multi-operators on multiple bands. 73 Pascal VA2PV

73 ON7ER
