Amazing! But what matters is the most is - is its longevity better than of traditional lion batteries? How many cycles can it handle and how much does it degrade by just lying around?

with that low temperatures I can be sure that lifetime is great, is like all in physics

@@FisiClay it's not just about temperatures, but also voltage. Most modern devices get barely warm while charging, and yet the highest capacity ones usually don't last that long if you charge them to 100% all the time. If a manufacturer prioritizes capacity over longevity then there isn't much we can do, especially in laptops, half of which still don't have the batter charge limit to avoid fast degradation.

I hope smartphone companies will use this kindnof battery ASAP. I'm willing to pay more for a smartphone that uses this kind of battery (if it has longer lifespan) rather than phones with Lithium battery that will only last 2 to 3 years. Service centers of Samsung and Apple cannot do a battery replacement while we wait, we have to leave our phone to them and wait at least 1 week for the battery replacement to be completed. This new battery tech will save us time.

yeah most laptops still don't last a whole day on a single charge, I really want to see this fixed. Hopefully these batteries are a way out.

That’s not a battery issue, that’s an Intel and AMD issue. I get 2-3 work days on my M1 MacBook Pro before I need to plug in. Any thing more than that is just not necessary.

@@TheOfficialOriginalChad Apple had to completely change the architecture which screwed compatibility with older programs. On Windows, you can't just do that as not only you would lose a lot of performance in most programs, but older games may not ever launch again. Games are a form of art just like movies and they should always be available, hence Windows hasn't drastically changed its core and hasn't moved to arm yet

Cutting a live battery with scissors while it keeps its own voltage is absolutely insane! It barely heat up. I am scared to imagine what would happen at cutting a regular Li-ion battery of the same capacity...
