My question is how far left and right can you go before it becomes non-anchoring? I have to imagine it will twist and want to slide. If you were on a hip roof for example, you don't have a ridge perpendicular to the slope on all sides. Would really like to see some field test results for this. The next observation is that it appears easy enough to push up the roof and over the ridge, but what about getting it back off the roof once you've reached your ladder? This wasn't made clear in the video. What I can imagine seems a little cumbersome to remove it.

Yeah those are two of my questions as well. It's better than no anchor, but there's no counter weight when swaying side to side.

You take the pole at the bottom of the roof when you're safely on the ladder and twist it while pushing up. This gets the wheels upside down. Then you slowly pull it over the ridge and again twist to put the wheels back down on the roof and slowly pull it toward you.

One problem I can see in the video is that once the wheels clear the top of the ridge the rubber bar contacts the ridge and you had to lift it clear of the ridge to get it on the other side of the roof. That's easy standing on the floor with your hands on the hook but I think it would be a lot more difficult on the top of an extension ladder and trying to lift that over the ridge with a 16' pole. I would think that you would have to do the same when you want to remove the hook. You would have to lift it above the ridge peak in order to get the wheels back on "your" side of the roof. I'd like to see a video of someone removing the hook while on a ladder using the 16 feet of pole.

700 bucks just for the hook... I'd rather buy a small welder, a small oxy/acetylene torch and some metal stock... just make my own.... I just can't see why this is 700 bucks each; I'd rather spend 700 bucks on a welder and a torch and just make my own... cut the hook out of stock steel using a torch... weld on the "tube" and wheels... blow a hole in the steel with the torch to attach the clevis/shackle... I mean obviously if you own a roofing business you can't just be jimmy rigging safety equipment for your work crew but If you are a DIY'er like myself this is way too much for what it is... a piece of steel, wheels and bolts... I understand that inventions require engineers, research and development but $700 for 1 is TOO much... if these were $199 I'd buy 2 or 3.

For about $60 you can go by x2 ladder hooks in a box at Menards and use them on your ladder or do as we did and take some scrap steel spread them hooks about 18in apart and weld in some scraps and it won't move as much as this single ladder hook and will do the same exact thing as these hooks but for under $100 and less than 20mins of your time

@@ChicagoRoofer shingles are NOT $700 bucks for 1... shingles are like $2 bucks each... a pack of 25-35 shingles costs about $60 bucks... if shingles were 700 bucks each I would look into making my own shingles or a shingle alternative. At a price point of 700 bucks for 1 hook this product is clearly not marketed or meant for the average DIYer, the company is obviously looking to sell the product to businesses only (business would consider the purchase as a tax write off and or pass the cost off to the customer)

@@ChicagoRoofer that’s the big question isn’t it? If the company was concerned for everyone’s life, the company wouldn’t be selling it this expensive. Most people won’t buy this, because it’s ridiculously expensive. Price for someone that wants to create a product and save lives should be somewhere around $350-$450 for two including the kit. Total cost on one to make is probably around $65 including shipping, if that! It’s a great product, but someone is more concerned about their own lifestyle than life itself.
