Thanks for watching! I need to make another video on how to use another version of their latches. This one has the turning "Lock/Unlock" way of using it, but sometimes these can snap if they are mounted just a little tighter than need be... and I discovered that we can use another latch from the same company - and it is easy to replace... the catch stays in place, it is the "stick" that can be replaced... it is a less expensive fix than buying the whole system again.

Our cats love to open doors... we actually have two sets of doors open for them to run around in... they open the door, go inside to nap, and come out one side or the other... too funny, we do not, however, want them going into the cabinets where we have food items or the paper towels and such... they like to shred paper!

LOL - We have additional locks, as we find a cat getting into something where we don't want them, we add a lock. One of the funny things is that we have those folding doors (bi-fold) on our closet, so we had to use a different lock for that, because they would pull the door open from the middle and go in... cats in the closet... not good! We also have to lock doors. My wife's home office required us to reverse one of the handles so that we can lock the doors, and not lock ourselves out, but two of our cats are great at opening doors by pulling on the handles. Our offices are "no cat zones" unless we are in the office with them, I actually have two sleeping cats on a table next to me as I type!

Glad it helped! - Thanks for watching... I made an additional video on the actual installation of one of these. The one like these, where we can turn the latch part, can break, but they also sell a screw in latch, and I have used that one as a replacement for these... by NOT removing all of the glue from the sticker, I can place the new latch in place, and then lock it down with the screws. Because these are being placed in an important part of the cabinet, I make tiny starter holes for the new screws, so as to not split the cabinet.

Wish you would have showed us how you installed it instead of just talking us through it. That small piece l had a problem with. Latch locked onto wooden cabinet frame so l was able to get it to work with out using the smaller plastic piece. Still confused how the latch clicks into that small plastic part. ???

I agree, different cabinets can handle things differently. These are an "easy to install" item where they can be used as such. The company also makes a wide variety of other sorts of latches. In fact, we had broken a couple of these (because they could rotate to be unlocked, or locked, that is a weak point), and I replaced the broken latch with their pother latch,, which must be screwed in. For that, I had to also make pilot holes so that I do not split the wood on those cabinets. Thanks for sharing!

I really like these locks, but they don't let our kitchen drawers close all the way.

The little lip aspect of the "catch" might be able to be trimmed off - a bit of a hassle really - but that could allow full drawer closer. We don't have children, but we do have cats. That is why we picked these up. Another issue comes up where THIS pin (which can turn on or off), and snap off. They have an additional pin which is locked in place. When one of these original pins snap (we had two of them snap off), I replace that with the locked down version. And the thing about that is I need to mark screw positions, pre drill to not split the cabinet door, and then screw them in. I do not like that process, and if they put tape on that one too - even though I will be screwing it in - the tape could hold it in place until I am good to go with the screw... and saying THAT (LOL), I could also just use a little painters tape to hold it in place whilst putting the screw in place. Thanks for the comment, it is true, the lip on the one part will make it impossible to FULLY close the drawer.

We have not had success with these devices. Sure, they worked. But after 3-4 months, half of them have broken off. Very disappointed, and now we have to remove and replace them all.

We have had two of them break - and it is the part which you can spin. My wife picked up some of the latches that do not spin, and for the closets which had the broken latch, I simply replaced that side, and they work very well. The most often used doors are the ones which broke, one where we keep cat food, and another which is in the restroom (supplies). All of the other latches held fine, and without needed screws. I love these for being simple to line up, and for the ones where we had to replace the latch side, the catch side worked with the new latch. NOTE: When I say Latch, it is the one on the door, the Catch is the one on the cabinet side.

Great question, I actually made a new video on how to repair them if the latch part breaks... I need to upload that, and I describe how to remove them.... but it is SLOW and EASY - that is the way to do it.... if you have a metal putty knife, or a flat head screw river would work as well. SLOWLY and CAREFULLY slide the flat putty knife or screwdriver between the plastic.... work SLOWLY to remove it - do not get into a rush about it. Once you have the main plastic off, slowly work the back adhesive off, working slowly and carefully as to not damage the cabinets.
