This style of safety chain removes one the major convenience of a magnetic clasp: the ability to put the bracelet directly on one's wrist and then easily shut the clasp. If you wanted to keep that feature, one end of a safety chain could be a lobster clasp that you secure right next to the other end when you remove the bracelet then re-attach to the other end of the clasp after the magnets touch to close the clasp. Also not mentioned in the video is that the safety chain itself must be made out of a non-magnetic material, such as stainless steel, to avoid getting tangled in the magnetic clasp.

What kind of safety chain do I use to keep the chain from attracting to magnet?

Aloha! To stop the attraction from occuring, use non-magnetic metals like sterling silver, gold-filled, copper or aluminum. The magnets will definitely attract to base metal, plated chains that have nickel or iron. Hope that helps! OOh, thanks for the heads up!! That must have been in post, because that wasn't there in the original video. We use anywere from 1.5" to 2" of chain. Use 2" if the bracelet needs to open up more in order to go over a larger hand. Good luck!! Aloha! Jamie

I left watching your tutorials and it made me feel better about adding just safety chain on my peace my problem is the safety chain will not lay straight like for a display it wants to cling to the magnetic clasp itself

If the ends are attached by jump rings a few jump rings may extend. You may have to restring the beads. Thank you for your support!
