Glad you are pointing this out. I’ve never seen someone doing it that way but unbelievably seems to be common. Drill bits on these are intended to be removed manually not by using the power of the drill. Glad you didn’t get hurt . Guys, play safe with any kind of tools protecting your eyes always. A fellow ham friend of mine just lost his right eye when the metal piece he was working on flew away from his lathe hitting his face above his right eye. Didn’t touch his eye at all but he was hit so hard that his retina was damaged inside his eye to the point that was not reversible loosing his sight on the right eye forever. 73. Rob, YS1RS

I've never seen someone take a drill bit out that way, by reversing the drill that way... especially pressing the trigger in so much that the chuck is turning quite rapidly. I don't recall doing it my self. But, it's a good safety tip. I'm surprised such a big tool company uses a chuck design that can allow for that to happen. It's something I'll watch out for from now on. Thanks for the tip!

I take the bit out the same way however I point to the ground. Glad it didn’t hit your eye.
