Good Sunday evening Ed. Had the freezing fog this morning we were supposed to have yesterday. Trees and fences were covered with frost until the sun came out late morning. It looked like it was raining the trees when it started melting. Yep, no matter how careful you're being crazy things can happen. Be careful!!!

@farawayfarm2520 I've got a smile scar on my right thumb.. cutting molding, I thought a piece slipped, but dad had come up behind me and caught it. The blade brake didn't work, almost tipped my thumb. Nice 1/8" cerf out of it, down into the bone. Cleaned it up, wrapped it up and a few weeks later, it filled in on its own. Sometimes the pad will take a while to puff back up after I hold something for a bit..

Looks like busy day there. Slower one here, chores and sorted cows to ship and put missing electronic tags back in their ears. Load out in the morning and done shipping till after calving.

I definitely don't like using those big discs. I had one splinter one time and part of it got buried in a plastic bucket near my head. Be safe my friend

Hey Ed and family, all i can say is OUCH! You were very lucky you didnt lose a limb. We stopped in to the cemetary where our grandparents, other family members and neighbors were at last summer. Doesnt hurt to do that once in a while.

@@3dranchmanitoba hey. Yup, I definitely got lucky!!! If my arm hadn't been in the way, my face was next.. that would have been very bad! We don't stop by cemeteries near often enough. But I like to think our loved ones are always around us. Doesn't hurt to stop by anyway.

I had a black and decker that locked up like that. It was dangerous. I had to throw that one out beautiful headstone. I noticed all the headstones there are flat against the ground as opposed to tall and raised up.

Good morning Ed. A person needs to take those field trips every now and then. Hopefully when we do, we can come home again. Back 20 years ago, there was a kid that lived about 40 miles away. He got killed using one of those cutting wheels. It broke up and a piece flew into his neck or chest. Can't remember which, but he died. I think he was 13 if memory serves.. You're a braver man than me Ed. I quite using those Hobo Freight Warrior disks. They heat up, load up and bind. Scary stuff for sure.

@@mattthescrapwhisperer actually had pretty good luck with them. If you want to get hurt, use DeWalt or Camel Abrasives.. Hobo Freight didn't have much for Warrior the other day, got Bauer, I think 🤔 we'll see how they hold up, I'm sure I'll be putting one on the little grinder tomorrow..🤞🤞🤞

@@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin We used to use giant Bayflex grinders in my shipyard days. The tool room disabled all the trigger locks so they wouldn't get stuck on. I have some nerve damage in my hands from those &%$#! things!

That big disk makes me nervous. I use the 4” version and have had them fracture. That’s a terrifying story! I’ve been thinking about buying a band saw for cutting steel.

I know that film from Caterpillar. I saw another video, where a guy get complete ripped apart from a huge turning lathe. Was filmed by a security cam. Man, that was horrible! Have a great day Ed!!

Saw many of those videos over 6 years as a Cat tech. But they never prepare you for the real world. Worst one ever was when a 623 scraper tire took out 4 guys at once. Many a cat tech missing fingers you would think we were the yakuza 😅

@@sonofmontezuma3732 we watched them in Vo-Ag classes in Jr high and high school. They are supposed to make you think, before you oops.. Yup, I know quite a few guys that can't count to ten.. so far, I still can! What they don't tell you is, if you do much metal fabrication, ALWAYS get a head X-ray before going in for an MRI!!! Little metal slivers out of the body, really don't do any damage, but any in the eyes, well.. not much they can do to fix hamburger... Stay safe!

I tangled with a half inch drill with a trigger lock while up on top of an extension ladder A guy on the ground was on the ball and kicked a connection at two extension cord apart before I became a statistic

@@tractortalkwithgary1271 lucky!!!! We have a big drill.. try to keep 2 people on it. I was drilling lug holes in a wheel years ago. Wheel laying down on the ground. Bit caught and I went for a 400rpm merry-go-round ride, until the cord pulled out of the plug.. just held on tight until it was over..

Dang I didn't realize your mom passed the day after my birthday. This summer while picking up round bales behind the cemetery I had a nice walk out to find a few of my people. It was peaceful dressed in work clothes, watching the sunset.

Watch this morning before work and cringed all day at that grinder with a 14" cut off wheel......I'm not going to lecture you about it but that wasn't shaking hands with danger, that's looking death in the eye.....Over my rant....Nice you all could all get up to the cemetery.....I like to go over on a nice day to the one that my family is buried at, have a lot of old friends there too....I just sit there and it feels like their sitting there with me , I know sounds weird . @@brenterickson1695 good evening Brent. Ya, probably should buy one of those hand held chop saws.. made for that 💩.. would have used the Whacker, gas powered, but it doesn't want to run... Biggest thing is, wether it's a small disc on a little grinder, or a big disc on a big grinder... NEVER be inline with the disc when you start it!! And be aware of where it's lined up while using it!! Was nice to go see some people we used to know.. the one with the bench sure snuck up and hit me!! He was a good friend for many years. Soon as YT is done with their stuff, tonight's video will be up..

Howdy Ed. Shake hands with danger is right. We used to use chop saw wheels on our grinder like that, but we used them after they were too worn out for the chop saw first. Still pretty hairy but not as bad as a new wheel. Have you still had problems with the comments section? I have 6” Diablo blades on a sawzall for deep cuts like that, man a 14” at 6000rpm???

Most of what I cut like that, just burns up blades. Especially when cutting the welds. Gotta watch the disc.. play with the trigger and how much pressure you're putting on it. Starts to warp, back off!! But then, I've had them warp pretty good on the chop saw too..
