Unfortunately, mobile crisis units are not staffed with the right personnel to mitigate violence during first responder dispatch. County jails have become dumping grounds for the mentally ill. My local detention center even made a unit specifically for the mentally ill, which is disgusting, because correctional officers and healthcare staff are not educated in psychiatry.
