1. In Horizontal PSV there will be draining issue. 1. Manufacturer always test vertical PSV as horizontal PSV will affect its operation. 3. In horizontal PSV if it's stem malfunction or break it will restrict the flow path across PSV orifice due to gravity effect.

CDTP is clear with variable back pressure...but how its changing with temperature 🌡️?

See with back pressure, more pressure will be acting downwards, so you need to decrease the spring pressure such that the set-pressure is maintained. Similarly, with increase in temperature of process fluid, more pressure will be acting upwards. So, you will have to increase the spring pressure such that the set-pressure is maintained. Hope you understood it.
