LOVE the pic at the end of the video. Dave, you look like Cousin Eddie in Christmas Vacation when he is out in front of Clark's yard emptying the gray tank in the sewer screaming the s#itters full. Carol and I each have dog-eared hats that we affectionately refer to as Cousin Eddie hats. Great touch Dave. Merry Christmas to you, Carrie and Roodle. Be safe and be blessed. Just getting around to enjoying this video. It may be in my top 3 of yours! ❤❤❤ the cabinet graphic, Carrie. I could hear the joy in. Dave's voice as he shared his knowledge of aggats & edibles. One of the most precious moments I've experienced in your videos is the drone capture of Carrie & Roodle at the rock outcropping. Something about that touched me, the climbing up, sitting, panning around and her return were heartfelt by me. Happy New Year you 3. Blessings for an abundantly adventurous 2024🙌

Cool spot. I had one set of Grandparents that were avid rockhounds. I do remember they had a rock saw where they would cut rock. I think it was called a geo when some rocks were cut in half there would be a void with like crystals in them. I think my favorite rock was onyx. They sure polished up nice. They also made bolo ties with polished rocks. Wish I remembered more but as a young kid I was not very interested. We have met the acquaintance of a rattlesnake while back packing. We gave him or her space and he/she moved along without incident. We also came face to face with a momma moose with 2 babies.....very dangerous! We also gave her space, and she made it clear that we should move along, and we did. In this exact location a few years we ran into 7 javalina (wild pigs) also very dangerous for dogs. We are aware of our surroundings and try to be aware. It doesn't always happen, but we do keep roodle between us while hiking and in dangerous areas he is on leash.

I found more of the actual fire agate variety beyond (north) of where they were parked in the dry arroyo. As you walk "upstream" keep an eye on the right side wall between the arroyo and the road for the actual matrix that holds the fire agate. While there are billions of plain white agates here the botroydal fire agates are darned scarce... and very valuable. They look more or less like fish eggs in opalized motor oil. I also walked as high up the hill east of their parking spot as humanly possible. No fire agate, but you do get into this weird tephra layer that has oval oblate agates that all look like flattened footballs the size of a quarter to silver dollars or so. Have fun!

Why not put his boots on
@oneadVANtureatatime Жыл бұрын
+@dianep3071 it’s not good for dogs to wear socks or boots for long periods of time. They are uncomfortable for him, they rub on his nails and are tight around his legs. Also, dogs sweat through the pads of their paws making his boots more uncomfortable. We have boots and socks for situations like if it is really hot pavement, ice & snow, lots of cacti 🌵 or other contaminants that might hurt his feet. We have also used his boots when he cut one of his pads on a piece of glass. Or if we are hiking through really sharp rocks. But for the most part we only use his boots when absolutely necessary😃
