Thank you guys for being one of the last vanlife channels that is still doing travel content! So many of them have turned into cooking and personal hygiene shows 😞

Thank you for coming along! It's hard to navigate youtube, be profitable, and still film what excites us! We are very thankful that we still get to share what we love the most due to Patreon. KZbin viewers love those cooking and personal hygience shows.

I drove over 30 km up that road in October. Brutal. I aired down to 40psi, and it was a bit better. I was camping with my son and his friends. They all recommended airing down to 20psi for the trip back, and that was a huge improvement. It was an adventure and we had a beautiful and quiet camping spot along a river.

That road is just like the roads we take to some of our favorite places here in North Idaho. Lunchpeak, McGee's Cabin, and Porcupine Lake. And then there is a gorgeous lake in Glacier (Montana) that has a road just like that. But, we still went and it was so worth it! We have taken our class C RV on roads like that up in the Bonners Ferry, Priest Lake Area, and going up the St Joe...but then again, that's the kind of camping we love to do and that's why we got our RV, so we could camp in Grizzly Bear country safer (we used to have a tent and had some very close and entertaining encounters). But this way we can go and have everything with us that we need. Gorgeous lake! Love your video, as always!

What a beautiful spot! Thank you for this wonderful Alaska trip! It helped us relive our 2022 visit and also made us realize that we want to go back😊. Got our calendar and love it! Just wondering who was singing at the beginning of the video. Merry Christmas 🎄

SO beautiful!! That road was like driving on the moon!! The spot you wanted was gorgeous and would have been my pick, but at least the one you took was really great for Roodle to play on the beach. I can just imagine having a cabin there in a non-public area where it's peaceful and quiet. Pack in 6 months of supplies and never leave. Amazing 😊. Wishing you all a wonderfully happy Merry Christmas!! ☃️🌲♥️🌲☃️

Looked like the pit toilet door opened for a lake view? Very likely a great fishing place, large trout possible? Yes, one of those stay for a week places. Good place to bring a trail motorcycle to explore the area, go for supplies if necessary.

It was a great location! Our dream is to someday have a trail motorcycle! We just cannot add any more weight into this van.

You guys have a ton of miles on that Dodge. How many gravel roads have you taken? How much wear and tear has your suspension taken? What upgrades for suspension would you make? Or, leave it stock? I'm interested...how much $ has your tires, wheels, shocks, springs, etc cost.and at what point did things start to require attention? Love your channel...if ever around Orting, Wa. We can take you to "Backside hidden Mt Rainier."❤
@oneadVANtureatatime6 сағат бұрын
What gravel road haven't we taken...lol We have replaced the front struts and back shocks.... they are due again so that will be twice in 7 years. We did not have the money to upgrade our suspension, but we would definitely like to add another heavy-duty leaf spring, heavy duty shocks and struts in the front and rear. If you have the money and plan on building a van, we suggest upgrading your suspension! However, we have made it 7 years without, but the ride is rough at times. As far as tires go we are on our 3rd set (114,339 miles in 7 years) We love our Falken Wildpeak AT3! They have come up in price over the years and are running around $205 a tire these days. We have not explored Mt Rainier much.... that would be fun!

Beautiful locations. As always enjoyable videos to watch. Running low on power, bummer. I have the starlink mini, it barely uses power.(25-40w) Happy travels!
@oneadVANtureatatime6 сағат бұрын
Hi Glenn! We will soon convert the starlink to 12v so it is not so power hungry! Happy Travels to you as well!
@glennbeattie61726 сағат бұрын
Going to DC power from AC power will not make a difference in power consumption. Maybe a watt or two is lost in conversion, but not enough to make any difference.

We thought it was bad that it took us 3 hrs to drive the 60 miles to McCarthy. You guys beat that!!!
@oneadVANtureatatime8 сағат бұрын
We would have saved ourselves a lot of discomfort if we had aired down much sooner!
@Thesaltymedic3619 сағат бұрын
Nice camp spot right on the lake. I definitely could fit there. I like the front yard idea 👍🏼 Who or what are they searching for? Hopefully not a lost hiker 😮
@oneadVANtureatatime8 сағат бұрын
Some of the campgrounds looked amazing too! I fear it must have been a lost hiker or off roader! They came back every day we were there.

That road almost looks as bad as West bound I 20, just east of Shreveport in 2018. They may have fixed it since then. I will never know because I will never go back.
@oneadVANtureatatime8 сағат бұрын
Man, that road was brutal! We should have aired down so much sooner; it made the world of difference.
@nancyskean642515 сағат бұрын
Dave, when you air down, how many psi do you drop?
@oneadVANtureatatime8 сағат бұрын
Good Question, it changes depending on road conditions. On this road we aired down 20 pounds psi and it made a world of difference.
@craftytraveler923819 сағат бұрын
Another beautiful place but I wouldn't want to drive that road.
@oneadVANtureatatime6 сағат бұрын

Could you have sent the drone ahead? Or was it too far?
@oneadVANtureatatime8 сағат бұрын
Drones are great for road scouting, but it really wouldn't show how bumpy the rocks made it.

I don't understand the title Plus jamais le Canada (Never again Canada ).
@oneadVANtureatatime16 сағат бұрын
I don’t understand how you can see that “never again Canada”. That is a private name I gave the video in my video editor! I don’t put much thought into what I name the video when I’m editing it. I just use keys words to help me keep the videos separate in my mind so I can find them amongst 400 plus videos on my hard drives. A lot of the time a name I give it makes no sense. I used never again because we said we never wanted to drive a road that rough again. I added the Canada just so I knew where it was! Shame on KZbin for show my private video name. What is the point of adding a title if it’s going to show that. I guess I will have to be more intentional with names from now on.

I think on this trip we aired down 20 pounds below suggested psi.
