Scarlet Grace: Ambitions was the first game I played in the series and I loved it so much that I pre-ordered Emerald Beyond. Now I'm loving EB with a current playtime of 75 hours. I will go back to the older titles for sure (I already own Romancing SaGa 2 and 3).

Scarlet Grace was a fantastic game, it's the refresher that got me back into this series.

I've already spent over 100 hours just enjoying this game and have a lot more to explore. As a long time Saga fan, there's so much to dig into and I love stuff like the quirky support characters and varieties of world lore (a lot of which requires a good bit of replaying).

I couldn't find one good review of this game is it really good?

It's such a shame some people are quickly writing off Emerald Beyond as a cheap or low effort game, despite some flaws it's not only a heartfelt love letter to the original GB games but a masterfully crafted RPG with an incredible amount of choice and consequences, a state of the art battle and character building system and a revolutionary game progression model that has never been tried before and also ended up being executed nearly flawlessly on its first try. I've been playing RPGs for 30 years now and I'm still amazed by how Kawazu manages to keep making such rich games on a nearly nonexistent budget, unfortunately both the executives at Square-Enix and the general audience still refuse to give him a honest chance, but hopefully some of the people who watch this video will know better, give the SaGa series a try!

I mean, it IS a cheap, low effort game. Let's face it, all the budget they had obviously went into funding the full remake of Romancing SaGa 2, a game that does deserve it.

@@wswkltms People like you who talk about things they know nothing about and have no real interest in, and more depressingly, judge games purely by how much money went into their graphics, are the reason why these games are dying and this industry caters to the lowest common denominator. Nothing about Emerald Beyond is low effort, and the reason why it got stuck with no budget for the graphics is precisely because of people like you, who refused to support this series for decades.

@@nc-my6ue People like me? I'm a fan of the franchise, I've known SaGa for a long time and I've bought all the games since they started remastering them, I love the Romancing and Frontier series, and I bet a lot of people do too. I want the best for this franchise but you have to be realistic, Emerald Beyond is not the way they had to go, I know they are capable of doing better and Square-Enix is not an indie company for them to deliver such low budget products at such a high price. And don't give me that the consumers are to blame for the low budget, because Square has funded many, many projects in the last years of things that nobody ever asked for and ended up being a failure, and with all that they are not able to properly support one of their longest running franchises as it deserves... give me a break.

How so? Which title? The game is nothing like them imo. To me it seamed like they took some ideas from the 2nd game and put them on a whiteboard and then shiped it without actually making a proper game. It plays like a 10 dollar Visual Novel with copy pasted battle system from SG that is worse in almost every way. I don't get nostalgic cause Mr, S is in it. It just makes me sad they tried to butcher him.
@trenthoward68006 ай бұрын
@@Jraffles They're the same because it's a science-fantasy adventure with multiple races. I'd go a step further and mark Emerald Beyond as being in the same vein as the original Frontier.

I'm so glad that different races are back. Neil seems like he really enjoys the series. Robots are my favorite race, as well. It's great to hear from the creator who is clearly very passionate about it.

Sorry but the game isn't great. The combat seams poorly turned and the world dry. I'd love to see a revival of the old school Saga games. I feel like the series is allways going in the wrong direction. You got a lot of good press from releasing the old games, then make a game based off your worst sellers. Please make a SaGa based off the originals. The style and art of the OG. Classic 80s Anime. A world you can explore; not interactive menus. An Old school RPG world with modern QoL features. Saga Frontier 3 not Unimited Saga 3. I hate to say it but it's time to bring someone in with real vision and understanding on what made SaGa games better then FF.
