Angela Lansbury was a beautiful multi-talented actor in theatre, television and the screen. Her fans came from across the states and internationally.❤ We all love her performances even though Hollywood didn’t realize what they had. I’m glad she finally got her recognition for all she had done as an actress. A truly gracious and professional person. She will be missed.😂

I am so thankful that my husband and I went to see her in Blythe Spirit the last time she was performing it on tour and in LA where we live ❤ It is a dream of a lifetime fulfilled that just ONCE I saw this incredible, talented, warm hearted and inspirational Legend in person and on the stage just feet away. Remarkable how at almost 90 she held us in the palm of hwr hand and our hearts 💕 every second she was on stage. Of course she got the standing ovation at the end of the show and we all knew how very sincerely grateful she was for all the collective Love

What a thrill to see this interview with Angela Lansbury, who has played a prominent role in my entire conscious life. I cannot remember a time in which she was not a part of my life, in other words. She set the example for all of us actors. She maintained her childlike vulnerability, allowing her truly to inhabit each role that she played, for her whole life. She maintained the sense of “play” required of all performers. I was so very fortunate to have met her and to have the chance to tell her, face to face, how much I respected and admired her. What a lady!

This dear one personifies the ability of a quick intelligent warm response to most any questions posed to her. Such elegance of her own, in the face of soooo many roles she played that were anything but. My tongue gets ‘tied’ when I want to adequately express my awe and appreciation for having had her on our planet for such a long time. Aloha Angela and may your star studded memory never leave us!!

Wow, what a treat, thrill to come upon this interview. Having been ill for some time with a virus of the epidemic in the US - being house bound- I am bingeing on episodes of Murder She Wrote. Angela Lansbury is now as this conversation shows, known and has excelled in many, if not all forms of acting and singing. But her own persona, her elegance glowed as she projected herself, her talent, her dedication to her art. Even in her absence now, the legacy she left will continue to entertain and awe her audiences.

I appeared with Angela in the west end production of Gypsy at the Piccadilly theatre in 1973 when I was twelve years old. What a wonderful interview 🙂 Did I miss something or did neither Angela nor the interviewer mentioned her role in "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" and her voice acting for "Beauty and the Beast"? I mean they went through her career and I thought these were important moments beside the theatre, early movies and "Murder she wrote". Especially for the younger audience which get to know her if they watch the Disney movie or maybe discover the TV series. I first got to know Angela from the Disney movie and just recently realized that it is her voice in "Beauty and the Beast 🙈😅 I love the way she act as Eglantine Price and the role fit to her perfectly. I immediately enjoyed her charismatic act/voice so much as I watched the film as a child 😊 "Age of not believing" is one of my all time favourite Disney songs. I bought the complete episodes of "Murder she wrote". Never watched a full episode. I think I was too young for that back then but now I'm looking forward to it very much 😊 RIP Miss A. Lansbury 😥 As time goes by the actresses and actors we grew up with leave us...as for my generation it began with Alan Rickman and the James Bond actors Sir R. Moore and Sir S. Connery, but they'll always be there on the screen for us or also with their voice only 😊

Hollywood don't know how to create a wonderful beautiful and talented star like angela lansbury she deserves a wonderful character like a leading lady I don't see her as a tough or in a villain character I see her as a angle in her young age but they waste it. But theater give her the role the she deserves that's why I don't blame her if she love theater even I want her to see lots of movie but movie didn't give her what she deserves

HUB Braden was MSW ‘s Production designer… his identical twin brother John M. Braden - was a NYC Theatrical, film & TV Production Designer…both with reputations as “a fixer..” when the touring production of “Sweeney Todd” was being planned.. the stage set’s iron-glass ceiling was impractical for the road show..tour.. Brother John hired to design - architectural wood & plastic scenic tour construction - replicating the actual iron & glass structure purchased from a NJ Warehouse demolition..which had been reassembled on the theater stage- then rigged with iron cables to hang over the entire stage.. which became a jurisdictional issue with 2 distinctly different theatrical craft IATSE guilds..! John’s scenic draftings we’re also used for the British London transfer “Sweeney Todd” …Ironically / both twin brothers associated in their life experience with Dame Angela Lansbury Shaw…!

I think the reason they always gave her older woman characters even when she was barely more than a teenager is because men don't take young women seriously. Misogyny was always the thing standing in her way, but then when does misogyny not stand in the way of women in all walks of life?

Excellent interview. Dame Lansbury's talent, kindness, professionalism, and intelligence are evident. I'm so glad now I saw her "Gypsy" at the Shubert in Los Angles multiple times during its run. Indeed, it was a performance that couldn't be topped. Decades later, she returned to the stage in L.A. and blew the roof off when she and Carol Channing sang each other's title songs at the Jerry Herman S.T.A.G.E. benefit event: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZKrh359iKp7grc
