Really smooth for a CS. No water needed. The heat doesn’t come until later. It’s a really super dram. Rye is underrated.

The strength varies by cask apparently. I just bought a bottle this morning (I’m in Frederick, MD) and it is 112.2 proof.

The Mash and Drum I was really nervous after recommending it so highly. I tried to find another review and there was nothing on the cask strength. You did this bottle justice! I saw the notice pop up on my phone and I parked in a parking lot to watch it I was so excited! It’s even better when you revisit it after a few days of being open. 🥃

Water. Can't live without it. Especially if it has that high limestone content that makes whisky so magical. Never had a whisky that tasted of blueberries. Looks like I can get this locally. I'll let you know. You have been doing some exciting reviews lately. Nice!

I like my Rye to taste like a Rye. If it doesn’t have that Rye Spicy kick then I don’t care much for it. Great comparison at the end there.

I’ve been searching for a #2 rye to alternate with my favorite, Pikesville Rye. How does this compare to Pikesville?

I think it's a bit less sweet than Pikesville but also more fruity. I personally live the stuff. It's got spice, fruit and sweetness. But again...not as sweet as Pikesville
