I thought B524 was solid. I actually just went back to B523 for the first time in a year or so and either it is WAY better than I remembered or it has opened up beautifully!

Coming from a guy who is a huge ECBP fan and had every batch since the pirate bottle era, this year has definitely been a disappointment overall. With the metrics being almost exactly the same as the B524, don't really plan to seek this one out. B524 was decent but nothing to go crazy for

I had the A124 batch and it was perhaps my least favorite ECBP ever. Certainly not giving up on the brand but they haven’t been trending in the right direction-C923 notwithstanding.

I got to try a sample of the 2024. It is super delicious! I like the spiciness.

Love the review! It sounds like a disappointment though which I why I’ve stopped buying them. $75 for a 11 year whiskey “sounds” like a deal but nothing about your review says it is worth the price tag. Triple bass idea!!! Match it up with other barrel proofs under $75!!!

Yea, I’m glad we’ve got private barrels to look at in addition to these. I already have so much bourbon that I’m not eager to get it. Toasted Barrel is my jam 🙂

Do t know if there will be a “down the line” for this product if they don’t wake up and bring that price down. It’s a cool story being the house whiskey at the Cotton Club in Harlem during Prihibition. Maybe people are buying it idk. I know it’s a bit too rich for me at that price. Distillery Retail: $220 Hotel: ~$150/night for 1-2 nights Fuel or Flight: ~$50-300+ 1-2 Days Off/Away: ???-???? So total for the bottle at “retail” is realistically ~$420-670+ and that’s not including time away from home, family, off work, etc. OR it gets dropped off at my doorstep for $400? I know which one I’m going with. I get people railing against secondary, but there are instances where it’s a huge benefit. This is one of those.

Bowman single barrel is just quintessential bourbon its not ground breaking but when you want a bourbon that just ticks all the classic boxes this is a good option

In my area TN the POS distributors sat on the last 3 years of 4R LE and those only hit about 6 months ago. So ill see this one in a couple years.... maybe

Unlike other distillers that put out a variety of special high priced releases, Four Roses just has one each year. It’s a blend of their regular recipes at different ages. I respect this approach - the master distiller is saying he is taking the best of their best and putting them together using his skills to deliver this bottle one time each year. I’ve got 10 bottles of their single barrel, barrel strength picks covering 6 of the recipes. The oldest is 11 years, so I’m not likely to home blend anything approaching the LE. I’d say if you love bourbon and have enjoyed Four Roses it’s worth dropping $350 or $400 once to own an LE. I’ve got the 2022.

Was able to get 2022 (2x) and 2023 for under 200 euros here in Germany. If the 2024 LE comes for 220...maybeeee☺️. Resale 450 $ in us, no thank you. 2022 and 2023 are great, I'm wondering about the bottlenumbers. Here in Europe the bottles have a number of ca.5000 every year. US 15000...Is it the same batch? The alcohol notification is equal. However great Bourbon. One of the best, maybe the best Bourbon you find in Europe

I feel like the barrel strength single barrel store picks are a way better value at $100 vs the $220+ for this LE.

Thanks for letting us know what you paid. When you're in the thick of it, it's easy to forget that most of us don't have the time or energy to camp outside Giant Eagle at 4am, so it's secondary or nothing.

I am surprised you have to pay secondary on any bottle. I assumed with being as popular of a channel that you have you would get some of these limited bottles mailed to you straight from the distillery for reviewing.

Got to taste it from a buddy that sat in line at KYBF and it’s a pass for me. Def not worth the price and way too much “Red Hot” flavor for me.

Just got a bottle for my wedding present. I absolutely love it, reminds me of weller full proof, just not as rich.

I’m def a Roses fan, but doesn’t sound like this years 2024 release is worth that much more than a lot of SBBS picks that I have bunkered. I honestly wasn’t too impressed with last years 135th as an LE. For now I’m sticking with the bunker.

I havent missed a 4R SmBLE going back to 2015. I'll still pick one of these up but that "cinnamon red hot" note is not something that I like in bourbon.
