The neutral jump game on this Sagat. I love SF Hyper Fighting. CE and HF feel like pure SF2 games to me. All those wiffed DPs had me like, "Is Justin ever gonna hit s.HK as an anti-air?" 😵

100% CE and HF are the pure Street Fighter games. CE was my favorite for so long, and I finally realized that HF is like CE but better. HF has been my favorite since about 2008, before that it was CE. There are a zillion reasons why HF is the best, but I want to point out that I don't like Supers or Ultras. HF is a masterpiece.

World Warrior < Champion Edition < Hyper Fighting. Those three games are all beautiful, and they got better as they went along. It was basically the same game, but tweaked to make it better. After HF, the games weren't tweaked versions of the CPS1 games, they were different games altogether, and they were never as good as the CPS1 games. HF is perfection.

Ryu can wake up do vs any attack, it's just tight timing. If you have turbos you can test it. Sagat wake up sooner than other characters. As a result his "wakeup timing" is very natural. It fits the rhythm of the game. Ryu and Ken have a very slight delay on wakeup making the wakeup dp a timing that needs to be practiced. Good set. Keep in mind your instant jump forward RH can beat Sagat empty jump forward and tie with his kick of doom. Ryu air to air normals are very strong.

Shotos are great wdym, Ryu got no nerfs from CE/Dash when he was already a strong AF character, and Ken lost egg beater tatsu but he gains air tatsu for escapes, and he has a TOD + awesome Shoryuken.

Saw Justin Wong in London about 15 years ago at a tournament, pretty impressed, but there are great players out there that just aren't as famous. That's the beauty of the game though, the challenge never ends, it's the game you should love, not being the best.

A lot of characters have gained new tools, buffs and nerfs to further balance the game, Chun Li and Zangief went from low tier in SF2CE due to things like broken stand MK on Chun Li, or no kick lariat and other oddities with Zangief’s gameplay to strong character due to the addition of kikoken (a motion special), kick lariat, and Air SBK. Blanka is really strong too when he normally sucks in every game. But unlike CE where Boxer is comically bad, every character in HF has a chance.
