A little unrelated I know, but I just got back into the game after a MvC2 burnout and I'm trying to pick up one of the god tiers and have decided between either Mag or Sent. Mag is cool but the ROM infinite is so hard to learn, probably because I'm on pad. Like, I get to the part where I superjump but it's not working. I'm looking into a stick so maybe that will help. On the other hand, Sent is cool but the general consensus is that Sent Struggles against Cable, and I hate fighting Cable. Any chance to dunk on a zoner I will take hence trying to learn Mag. Does anyone have any advice to help? Assists to help Sent with Cable, tips for the ROM, whether or not combos outside of ROM do the job and until what level Etc.

I think veteran players muscle memory just makes them mash, storm’s lightning super isnt mashable but you still see high level players mash it everytime

Captain commando was never a bad character! I find it humourous when Combofiend got mocked for calling characters functions in MVCI yet the community is literally unironically using some of these characters only for their assists thus proving Combofiends point lmao commando is not the worst character, far from it! He's very strong and d players at the top just never bothered playing with him outside of his assist! I will never forget the irony of jmcroft discussing how commando is the worst character in the game only good for his assist(because he's just a function to these guys) while simultaneously showing a 1 vs 3 captain commando comeback, comedy gold!

People used him 20+ years ago its just that the gap between tops and everyone else is so huge CapCom is generally going to lose if he has to face Storm or Sentinel. Hell Trons great compared to most of the cast too with higher than normal stamina and good normals with the ability to combo into a super but stuff thats safe against Spiderman and Marrow aint safe against Cable or Magz

Another very curious case is that many top tier teams use Psylocke but only as an assist because if they use it as an active character they don't know how to use it.
