I remember one Kahoot game in highschool Spanish class, and that teacher was fairly cool. He said names didn't have to be exact (that battle would be foolish to wage) as long as he could tell who was who for credit, and as long as nothing was inappropriate. So people were putting things like 'James Is too Cool' or whatever. Incorporating their name or nickname into whatever they actually wanted to be. I pop in as just 'Spiderman', and one kid asks aloud, "Wait, who's Spiderman?" For context here, I'd been wearing a red and blue Spiderman hoodie all semester, ever since I bought it in a Halloween sale. Everyone in the class kept looking between that kid and me, it was pretty quiet besides the music. Teacher's like, "I'm pretty sure we all know who Spiderman is." Some other kid takes the opportunity to shout "Yeah! Peter Parker!" Ah, good times.

I heard a story about a teacher who wouldn't let any of the students put anything other than their exact names. If the student named "Emilia" didn't put exactly "Emilia" (even nicknames), she would kick the out of the game. So, one day, all the students just decided they were going to keep on putting random names and keep getting kicked out. It lasted for a about ten minutes before they got yelled at 🤣🤣 Edit: Alright... I'm pretty sure I'm from an older generation, but I remember we had something similar going on, where we were given numbered remotes and the remotes were assigned to individual students. No confusion or ability for students to put in their own names. I think this is one way they could prevent issues like this (tho idk if Cahoot is an app used for various miscellaneous purposes and not just classrooms) Also, for the Mateo story, I'm surprised the teacher didn't just use the process of elimination and find which student's name was missing from the board, but I also don't know how big the class was so fair.

I remember sometimes having to put in my student number on stuff like Kahoot! It didn’t happen too often, usually teachers allowed creative usernames as long as they weren’t offensive. The good thing about it was that when teachers shared a schedule with grades your name wouldn’t be on it, only your student number, so students wouldn’t laugh at the ones who got bad grades. You could tell who was new though, I had a number starting with 19 in college and due to having to start the year over and then deciding to take a different class, nearly all my classmates had a number starting with 20 as the number went up by 1 for every new student.

This is painful and accurate to my experience with high school kahoot! I remember the struggles of the class getting punished because some douchebag made over 200 bot accounts join constantly in German class. There was this one time that we had to use our first and last name initials, and mine are literally (M.E.), but when the class saw that they starred laughing and the teacher thought someone was making a fool of themselves. I had to stand up in front of the entire class and explain to them how I'm not trying to be funny. That's just actually my initials. Then the class started to spam "It's ME" accounts to the kahoot!

I had a teacher who used both kahoot and edmodo. Edmodo was a learning management platform. It had quizzes that could be treated as games along with the ability to chat with the rest of the class. The teacher would provide links for fun things to do, give badges through the platform(which often went alongside a physical prize), and it was also the homework turn-in area. Edmodo was kind of like a class centered facebook and looked like one, too. The service just shut down in June 2022, so it can't be explored anymore

I had one teacher in the same situation as the Spanish teacher in this story but instead of looking herself, her solution was to have the students hunt down the person who put the fake name in while she waited. one time like in 2nd or 3rd grade we were doing a kahoot and i was sitting in the desk on the bottom right and when we were playing a really hard question comes up and i guess it and then when it shows the thing where is says how many people got it right or wrong it had like 22 students got it wrong and 1 student got it right and since i'm in the back of the class i see every ones screen it's all bright red and i look at mine and its bright green and my teachers says "Who got it right?" and i slowly raise my hand.

I remember in my advanced math class during the later year of covid, we didn’t have any exams but our course was scheduled for the review nonetheless, so we played a bunch of random quizlets and kahoots and the winner would get something like a pencil, just something small like that. And because the teacher was nice and trusted us all, she let us do funny names and trusted us to not claim other people’s wins. Well, in one of the kahoots, I just so happened to name myself ‘Candice’ and ended up winning. It made me feel pretty good since most of my class was laughing over it, especially as I was just the quiet kid who sat in the front all year. I really miss that class, it made the crazy year schedule a lot nicer.

At my school every time we do kahoot there is always a student saying "Be a gamer skeleton!" or "Be a football skeleton!" or just anything that is a skeleton and then just basically the whole class starts making their character be that skeleton (and yes in my kahoot you could make characters😎) and then there is me with my unicorn with a space helmet.

Had a similar instance in highschool with my science teacher. Played Kahoot for jolly ranchers... Never had any weird moments though my teacher actually would go in and explain things to the class if a majority got one of the questions wrong. I truly did like my science teacher and his classes chill guy, nerdy with startrek. Actually got to talk to him after class with him about more advanced science than he could teach at the school. Things like theoretical warp drives, the cern facility, and even about neutron stars plus black holes (which those two things we did vaguely cover. I remember when we went over that most of the class groaned.. just sat there myself and took genuine interest)

My seventh grade year took place during Covid. We were all home and playing Kahoot for Spanish class like usual. I loved my teacher and she always let us put silly names as long as they were school appropriate.
