Thank you. So far I'm loving the Bambino Plus X Niche Zero. 18.5 in the double basket for my first 2 bags but starting with a new coffee this week and trying to dial in. Thanks for all your help.

Just the video I needed to help dial in my friends machine whilst visiting his house in Whistler BC Canada. I have a ECM Classika and Rocket Fausto at home in Yorkshire so I am familiar with the principles but being tipped off with the finer points of this machine are most welcome. Nice delivery and humour without being over the top!

I'm new to the home espresso game and I've just bought the duo temp pro and smart grinder. I'll be watching these vids again and again until I get a perfect shot. I'm really hoping to have cracked it soon because I want to be able to make my own pumpkin spice latte instead of relying on Starbucks

How have I never found this account! Amazing explanation.. I'm no coffee noob but I've never had it spelled so clearly! I'm getting the Duo Temp for Christmas so this guide is going to be a massive help.. now I just need to save up for Niche.. though the Barazza is probably going to be the winner!

Question, when do you start the timer? When turning the button or when the coffee comes out? Because with this machine it takes like 10s before the pressure really comes and pushes the water through, with other machines the coffee comes right after you push the button for example

Hi there, I recently bought this machine, and I am trying to dial in my espresso. My question is, because the duo temp pro has pre infusion, will this effect the shot time? Should I start the timer after the pre infusion has started? Or just aim for a higher overall shot time (say 28-36). Thanks!
@leeparsons18118 ай бұрын
I would like to know the answer to this as well, I’m getting an overall time of 20-30 seconds range but that takes into account the pre infusion if I take that part out it’s about 15-20 seconds but overall that would be the range suggestion if 20-30

Would also like to understand this more. Currently getting around 12 seconds before espresso comes through. However I'm 18g in and 36g out in around 32 seconds including that 12 seconds before seeing any espresso.

Great series mate. I do have a question: do you start timing when the first drips come out or when you turn the knob? Tx.

Great video once again! I’m excited to get the Duo Temp. It’s top of my budget meaning I’ll only be able to get a manual grinder, is there any budget ones you’d recommend? Thank you!

Thanks 🙂 If you're in the UK - see this! upvir.al/147851/lp147851 Re manual grinders, depends on the budget of course but the 1zpresso JX pro is a great option. Cheers Kev

Quick question Kev (as you have all the machines): will the three hold bambino plus steam wand tip fit on the duo temp Pro and would it improve the steam performance?

When timing shots, would I start the clock from pre-infusion OR from first drip? Thanks
@joslyndresen11 ай бұрын
Okok, you are not making it easier to choose. Could you do a comparison between a Duo temp pro with control dose pro vs. Barista Express and/or a Duo temp pro with smart grinder pro vs Barista Pro?
@robbeservaes36253 ай бұрын
My Duo Temp Pro usually has ±10 sec of pre-infusion. Do you count pre-infusion in your shot timings? Since it is such a long pre-infusion i'm not sure if i should aim for a 30 sec shot (which would be 20 secs from first drip)
@dotshorty3 ай бұрын
i have the same problem i cant tell when i should be starting the timer
@Sekyno3 ай бұрын
@@dotshorty you time from when the water hits the puck, so in this case with preinfusion and then adjust according to taste

wouldn't make sense to compare Duo Temp Pro vs Gaggia classic Pro (Evo)? both of them manual, entry level etc. etc.

it would, you make a very good point! Watch this space. No not that space, this space, just here 😎

I was a little confused about the puck prep. Would it be useful to use WDT, tamp, then razor? Or is wdt unnecessary if you are going to tamp then razor?

Thanks for the serries Kev! I have the duo temp now and i prefer to have steaned milk with my espresso. Would you suggest that i steam the milk first or pull the shot first? Thanks!
@Coffee_Kev Жыл бұрын
You're very welcome :-). In theory steaming the milk first works better, as the milk is a bigger volume of liquid so it won't cool down as quickly as the espresso will, and pulling the shot takes less time than steaming milk too so your espresso would be sitting for longer than the milk would be, as long as you do your puck prep first before steaming your milk. In reality though I don't think you'll notice any difference in cup quality whichever way around you do it. Cheers, Kev.

My other question is, is there a significant difference in the coffee taste between the De'Longhi Stilosa Espresso Machine EC260.BK model sage duo temp pro? Stilosa ec260 is quite affordable.

Hello, is there an obvious difference in quality between Gagia New Classic Pro Evo 2023 and this Sage Bes810_Bss Duo Temp Pro? In the country I live in, Sage Bes810 is cheaper than Gagia. If there is no obvious difference in coffee taste between the two, I will buy Sage.

Hi, the DTP is a great machine that is really easy to use, the Gaggia Evo is a great machine also but it is a bit more quirky and can take a bit more learning and patience, both can offer great tasting coffee. Cheers Kev

Hi Kev, 18/19g when tamped, never seems to hit the Razor tool? Do I go finer/coarser? Do increase the yield?
@Coffee_Kev7 ай бұрын
It depends on the bean, generally speaking I'd expect the razor tool to hit at 19, but not always, you can't really dial that way although it often gives you a fairly good idea.

If the roaster provides their roast density, should we dial in by fixing the volume rather than the weight?
