I've been watching alot of your videos, they don't get enough views. Not gonna name any names but alot of videos focus to much on just looking good. Your vids are practical, no bullshit. You deserve to be a headliner for the gun community on KZbin. Also I like seeing more of these videos about what to do right up until you pull the trigger.

Excellent video, Aaron, thank you! This is the real stuff of personal defense, too bad most people never train these scenarios. Verbal commands work when you can still exercise basic control over a situation, such as with your gun trained on a threat with a knife or empty handed and significant distance or cover between you. In this case, verbal commands give you the opportunity to stop the threat without shooting. If not in a position to control the situation, I would follow what my Sensei taught me long ago, "better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6". Against a gun, whoever gets the first combat-accurate rounds on target wins. To have a chance, better train to get that weapon out of concealment and round(s) on target center of mass inside of one second.

nice video, when i was a young lad here in New Yorkistan I learned to keep my mouth shut and just throw down. (I'm speaking about basic street fighting without weapons) but the game has changed because now the thugs are mostly armed and I am not. your advice makes good sense in a state where folks are able to defend themselves

I like this video a lot. I think it has a lot of good information, but I do have some mixed feelings. I agree with you that if a gun is out, then I'm going to be the one to takes the first shot. My mixed feelings stem from drawing my weapon to prevent loss of property. If you can deescalate by giving the assailant your keys/wallet, then I feel you should rather than drawing your weapon. However if someone is quickly approaching with a knife asking for a wallet I'll likely draw my weapon as well. I feel that the hardest part of carrying a weapon is having the situational awareness and mental clarity to make maybe not the correct decision, but a good decision.

It is this warrior mentality shit that is being pushed in America. If you are defending yours or another's life then yes of course do what you have to. But don't be an idiot dieing because you wouldn't let someone have your fucking credit card.

one regret I have not watched ur bids earlier been Military and security personnel since 1988 did a lot of in the streets had several confrontations and must say u right on target will continue watching ur vids very much intelligent Oh to guy that say u using to much profanity it works one to let people know ur not fooling around and if they fail to respond it sort of help u determine faster that they not fooling around either so it fireworks time

I really like your training but I respectfully would suggest profanity does not have to be part of a persons verbal command inventory. I'm not saying you are saying that but your examples include a good amount of profanity.
@nelsonstephen209 жыл бұрын
why the fuck cant it be? Profain words are enphasis words. If i tell you to drop the drop the knife, that only sounds so threatening. if i tell you to drop the motherfucking knife, well that 1 makes the other guy know youre more serious, 2 it intensifies your speech, and 3 brings speech closer to his level. chances are if he is carjacking you or some shit, hes probably got a potty mouth and will respond to the use of profanity since that would be the intensifier he uses and knows. i mean is it 100% needed. no. but can it help... possibly. but telling someone to drop the fucking knife does sound more menacing, and makes you sound more serious. just food for thought.

Shane , perhaps it might put emphasis on what you’re saying to someone who is threatening you but I do agree it not needed in a training session or video. I don’t view those where it’s used on a regular basis. Mikey

Michael Lewis You’re probably right about profanity not needing to be in a training video but, as these videos are practical and about realistic scenarios, if I was in any of these scenarios, I wouldn’t be worried about proper non-profane language anyway. I think the focus of the video was to help determine if the use of verbal commands in those situations may be appropriate.
@kylemartinez51546 жыл бұрын
I think that is just his language and it doesn’t hinder the lesson being taught. That’s his personality and in my opinion is probably one of the things that makes him a good instructor. No one wants a robot teaching them real life things.

@@nelsonstephen20 Swearing makes a pussy look strong in a KZbin comment--it doesn't de-escalate the situation. If anything, it makes you look like you're provoking an attack, thus losing your self-defense privilege

If this guy is trained, there is no way he was taught to swear in a verbal command. It's an aggravating, escalating thing to do, and makes you look like a provocateur. The edgier and non-professional you act, the more fuel the state has to strip you of self-defense privilege. He mentions appearance to witnesses, yet this is his verbiage.
