By the way...If you're in the UK, and you're thinking of buying a Sage machine (any Sage machine, not only their coffee machines), join my mailing list at coffeeblog.co.uk and then drop me an email to see if I have a current discount code to share. I don't currently get Breville discounts, sorry, but I do sometimes have Sage Appliances UK discount codes to share. Ta Kev

The lack of temperature control on the Bambino Plus is a bit annoying, and while it does warm up quickly, it also doesn't hold its temperature that well... I'm definitely planning on upgrading some day, but it's a great little machine for that price, and the milk foaming is quite good!

I've been pondering buying the smart grinder pro for ages now - so, currently waiting on it getting delivered today Lol. hopefully work's out okay.. great video dude.. 👍

I just bought the barista express but haven’t opened yet and thinking of taking it back for the bambino and smart grinder and saving £100.

Slightly off topic, but I would recommend removing the red high water float thing when washing the bambino plus drip tray after the steam wand flushes into it. Otherwise, like me, you'll end up having to use bleach to get rid of the disgusting old milk build up sometime down the line...

Really interesting insight with the bambino plus steam tip on the barista express. Can the heat exchanger on the barista express keep up with the pressure needed for the 4 holed steam tip? I have the BES870 express and wonder if this would work! Thanks

Which do you think produces the best latte/express: the breville bambino plus or the gaggio classic pro with zero mods? Thank you so much!

Out of interest, I see a Gaggia Classic behind you. I've had one for quite a few years and am considering a change. How does the Barista Pro stack up as a machine? Only using an entry to mid level grinder which I'd assume has a lot of impact on what I get out, but a machine that warms up quickly and programmable is super interesting to me..
@Coffee_Kev2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave, yeah the answer to that question does depend on what the Gaggia Classic is paired with, but to be honest I'd see the Gaggia Classic paired with the Sage smart grinder pro, for example, to be a very similar setup to the Barista pro. Cheers Kev

Do you use or recommend filtered water for coffee brewing? And what are your thoughts about Brita water filtercan?
@Coffee_Kev3 жыл бұрын
Water quality is really important, and using a filter is a great idea especially if you live in a hard water area. The Barista express, Barista Pro and Bambino plus do come with an internal water filter in the water tank, in the UK - I'm not sure if it's the same in other countries though, I think in the US for example you have to buy the filter separately.

@@Coffee_Kev the BE has a small filter and the Bambino plus has no filter (in Australia)

Besides the built-in filters, I've been recommended BWT water jugs.

Could I just buy coffee from Starbucks and have them grind it or would that not work?
@Coffee_Kev2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sarah, As long as you are using pressurised baskets and starbucks knows that is what you re using you should be fine. I would highly recommend using a small local roasters to get your beans and ask tell them what you are using, This should really help.
