This video came together really well. Not sure we will see another season like spring of 2015! First shots shown where anywhere from 150-250 yrds. The camera had a really good zoom. The long shots in the wind where from 350-425yrds. The dirt mound shown in the middle of the long range shots was 375 yrds away. You can actually see the ballet trace and notice the longer time of flight of the bullet. For those of you that don't agree with this form of pest control, that is fine, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but you can not argue that what was shown here was an infestation of varmints affecting and decimating the farmer's crops. Good shooting and swage on!Thanks for watching.BT

Dear Sir: On behalf of Aerial Predator Patrol And Removal Team (APPART) I want to thank you for making our weekend “Dirt Pig Extravaganza” the wild success it was. You were so gracious to provide meals in ready-to-eat portions, so that even the young ones could enjoy the buffet. Again, words just don’t express our gratitude. So “thank you” will have to do! Looking forward to working with you again next year. With deep appreciation, Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Eagle Honorable Chair Mrs. Sally Peregrine-Falcon Vice-President Mr. Franklin D. Raven Treasurer

Killer music.
@gordonsaye91838 жыл бұрын
Great video, the music really sets the tone. I was recently in Lake View, OR for some sage rat shooting looked very similar. These little guys breed like crazy and make a mess of farmers fields. Love the white flag towards the end that was funny. Where were you shooting?

Very nice shooting. Where were you, Northern Calif. or Oregon? Some buddies and I are going to Burns, Oregon in April 2017 to do some Sage Rat Pest control.

Are these holes interconnected? Long tunnels? Gas and explosion might make for satisfying viewing through these many tunnels?
@jeremyharris852 жыл бұрын
Yes, there are actually intricate networks of tunnels with designated areas for mating, eating, sleeping etc. I agree on the gas although these squirrels are found mostly on agricultural alfalfa farms in high desert altitudes.

Where is this? What state?
@141industries4 жыл бұрын
Damn! I’ve only had one trip that had that many rats. You need a couple rifles to keep from shooting the barrel out with that many shots lol.

When asked I once heard a hunter say "if you don't ask I won't have to lie" but since you asked..... it was a ranch in South Dakota. Almost time to go again! Good shooting and swage on! BT

.20 Prac? Load data? 32 vmax? What powder and primer combo?
@BTSniper19116 жыл бұрын
My favorite load for the 20 practical is 25.9 grains of N-133 with CCI 450 primer in LC brass for 4100 fps or the load that matches this one too is 26.1 grains of RamShot X-terminator with same primer and brass. This is safe for my guns of course, bolt action Savage with either Shilen or CBI 26" barrel with either 12 or 11 twist.
@BTSniper19116 жыл бұрын
The mag primer is needed to avoid pierced primers with these loads. The mag primer has a thicker cup that allows it to withstand a bit more pressure.
@markmcguire9206 жыл бұрын
26.1g of Xterm is a very hot load. I've been up to 26.5 with my .223 and it was crazy hot. Great powder though. My new Krieger .204 cal 27" contoured blank will be here tomorrow 1-11 twist. What reamer was used for that prac? PT&G?
@BTSniper19116 жыл бұрын
26.1 of X-term is not a "very hot load" in the 20 practical with 32 grain bullets. Check the RAMSHOT load data for the 20 tactical (virtually the same as the 20 practical) and you will find they list 26.6 grains as a max charge for X-term with the 32 grain bullet. I imagine it is the same reamer as Krieger and CBI are same company with simply one making the cut rifling and the other making button rifle barrels.
@markmcguire9206 жыл бұрын
BTSniper1911 Right you are. I just looked it up. Xterm is one of my fav powders. I've heard it's the only ramshot powder that has copper fouling deterrents in it.

32gn 22 cal?
@BTSniper19118 жыл бұрын
20 cal (.204)  Called a 20 practical or a 20-223. Simply a 223rem case necked down to 20 cal. AWESOME! Yes 32 grain horandy Z-Max bullets!

Its dirty animal!!!!
@أحبكياوطني-ع4ح7 жыл бұрын
This is a terrible hunting and sniping of animals very badly Do you see how the body of the animal explodes after being sniped with a bullet that makes it pieces scattered in the air
@BTSniper19117 жыл бұрын
Small pieces makes it easier for the predators that feed off of them to swallow.
@supertruckertom6 жыл бұрын
That is the objective.
@landyalmond77425 жыл бұрын
You want the animal to explode into several pieces when the bullet hits.... completely vaporized would be better but for now this is lovely...
@sunrider965 жыл бұрын
There are a couple of main ways that farmers/ranchers use to control these sage rats. The one that is most commonly used is poison. It makes them bleed out internally. Probably kind of painful. Exploding them is a lot more humane. They don't feel a thing.
