I agree 100% these so called environmentalists know nothing and they give more rights to animals than people . In Toronto Canada you can go to jail for 6 months for even trapping a racoon . We have 1.6 million raccoons in Toronto and when you count in mice ,rats squirrels, and skunks it's frightening

I think people just cannot understand that the same is done to millions of cows, chickens, pigs every year but they just see a cheeseburger. It's the disconnect between where food actually comes. Except they shoot the coyotes, too, so there's nothing to prey on the vulnerable piglets. Hence, they survive and breed and no progress is made in population control. Some years back wild boar were introduced back in to the forest of dean. After they were hunted to extinction there many many years ago. Not sure if it was intentional at first but They have been breeding like rabbits and the damage they are causing is unbelievable. They are turning grass verges and fields into an untidy boggy landscape. I'm hoping they are being managed to keep their numbers down or there are plans to. Farmers have been moaning about the damage they cause since some were let lose or escaped.

100s of years ago there were bears and wolves there also. if one is going to reintroduce an animal then it is necessary to reintroduce their natural predators also - that would solve the problem. but no, farmers and people in general are such a bunch complaining whining pussies. always want their cake and eat it. learn to live with the land rather than worrying about profits all the time. wolves and bears are no more risky to us than wild pigs. i suggest reintroducing all of them up into scotland where only 2% of the land is occupied by most people

Look up the study that Texas A&M did. They say that you have to kill 70% of them just to break even😳. They show how a six month sow can have a litter of 12 by ten months old. If 6 of those are female those 6 can produce 72 pigs. So 1 female can produce 88 pigs in 20 months. Then the real numbers take off in the 3rd generation.

@@shezyam460 for sure. I live in east Texas and only 2 generations ago, these people depended on wild hogs to live. They would "work" the hogs several times a year. Meaning they would castrate every boar they caught and mark their ears. Come winter, they would kill what they needed and utilize every part of it. This kept the population in check. Now Walmart sell pork chops for $2.89lb. Folks quit woking the herds and they got out of hand. I don't think there's any controlling them now.

I see a lot of people complaining about how the shots need to be better placed and what not. These hogs multiply at such rate that the only viable thing is to take out as many of them as you possibly can. When there is a loner ofc you can take your time, but with a big herd you want to maximize their losses. I live in Czech Republic, and because the government wasn't strict enough about wild hogs being reduced in numbers, we now have a very real huge overpopulation of them in forrests and fields where they destroy anything in their path.

@@notchs0son Trawl KZbin for unprovoked attacks by pigs. Dogs cats, parrots etc you will find. Like in real life, pigs are not compulsive attackers, that is a fantasy in the minds of some attempting to glorify them. Nearly every pig of any size that has not just been attacked on YT and the wider world will bolt for cover immediately it realises a human is present. In cover extremely rarely a boar will not run and let you know it is there, but have not heard of unprovoked attacks resulting (& have not heard of pigheros relating this situation, have experienced it personally. Not comfortable, but no attack). What pigs will do is retaliate if cornered, wounded, mauled with dogs or defending young etc, and they sometimes do this enthusiastically once started, and not give up against the odds. Most (possibly all) "unprovoked" attacks are due to the pig being provoked elsewhere, one that has just escaped dogs chewing it's nuts and hasn't had time to contemplate forgiveness hasn't got a sense of humour.

This is why hogs need to be hunted. A 70-acre field cratered with holes up to five feet wide and three feet deep. The roots below a huge oak tree shading a creek have been dug out and exposed. Grass has been trampled into paths. Where the grass has been stripped, saplings crowd out the pecan trees that provide food for deer, opossums and other wildlife. A farmer wanting to cut his hay could barely run a tractor through here. There’s no mistaking what has happened-this field has gone to the hogs. Wild hogs are “opportunistic omnivores,” meaning they’ll eat most anything. Using their extra-long snouts, flattened and strengthened on the end by a plate of cartilage, they can root as deep as three feet. They’ll devour or destroy whole fields-of sorghum, rice, wheat, soybeans, potatoes, melons and other fruits, nuts, grass and hay. Farmers planting corn have discovered that the hogs go methodically down the rows during the night, extracting seeds one by one. Hogs erode the soil and muddy streams and other water sources, possibly causing fish kills. They disrupt native vegetation and make it easier for invasive plants to take hold. The hogs claim any food set out for livestock, and occasionally eat the livestock as well, especially lambs, kids and calves. They also eat such wildlife as deer and quail and feast on the eggs of endangered sea turtles. It’s estimated that wild pigs destroy more than A$100 (US$74 million) worth of crops and pasture each year in Australia, and more than US$270 million (A$366 million) in just 12 states in the USA. Wild pigs have also been found to directly threaten 672 vertebrate and plant species across 54 different countries. Over centuries, this adaptable, omnivorous creature has rooted its way from Florida to Kansas, inundated Texas and California, and recently has been banging for entry at the northern border of Montana. Today, there are between six and nine million hogs running wild across at least 42 states and three territories. The exact number is difficult to pin down, and the estimated cost of the damage they cause-probably about $2.5 billion annually, according to the U.S.

I'm wondering why (from 10:34 to 10:53) you did not drop the hammer on the sow (female) ; by not killing the boar (after 10 seconds) you allowed it to inseminate the sow and thereby produce more piglets. Bottom line here is, wipe out the available sows and female piglets and the problem is solved since there are no more opportunities for the board to mate ; but in the majority of the videos I've seen, it appears the boars are the primary ones being shot.

Great shooting and marksmanship skills here. Just curious, after the herd of wild boars hears the rounds of ammunition being fired off, would they come back to that same area later that night or the next day? How far away from their habitat will they go to attempt to survive?
@Shaboomquisa

they can go everywhere I assume they like farm land because its easy for they to use their nose to dig for food. they eat everything anywhere if they can dig it out. there's so many hogs that it wouldn't be surprising to see a different flock come back through.

After 4 years of looking for land to hunt I’m convinced hogs aren’t the problem we claim they are. As long as the insurance covers the damage land owners don’t care, or they get double income off charging people $600+ for 2 nights and 1-2 hogs. I’ve even met landowners at rifle ranges and showed them I am proficient enough to hit a coffee can at 1000 yards, I can damn well hit a hog at 300. But it’s the same line $600 ish for a weekend and no more than 2-3 hogs. If it’s that big of a problem they wouldn’t be making a living off leases, hunts. Maybe once the insurance companies catch on to the scam and stop paying for double dipping greedy owners maybe just maybe things will change.
