I did my best, the video hardly does this one justice lol. It was pretty miserable, and a lot more snow in the air than what my camera picked up! Also caught American Mariner about an hour later, will put that up at some point

Wow! Loved the wind whipping and the snow blowing by! Seeing the Saginaw in her Lower Lakes colors add to the icy feel. Brrr. Oh yeah. The lake. Only a couple days till this season is over. Everyone needs a break. Good as always Jon. Thanks!

@ no nothing official yet that I’ve seen. Lower Lakes did finally give public statement but it was about Cuyahoga, nothing on Michipicoten

You're certainly dedicated!! Here off the eastern end of Lake Ontario we've gotten 7 feet of lake effect snow and are due for 2-3 more feet from tonight through Wed morning and after that we'll get your zero and below temps.

@@bevpearson8268 good grief… no thanks lol. We’ve gotten Anti-Lake effect snow lol, Superior has diverted much of the weather away from us. Aside from one or two snow falls it’s been pretty bare until now, this was the first time we had to break out the shovel

@@pixie706 yeah I hope Lower Lakes does their best to restore their image a bit, not sure if they have any ships scheduled for drydock this winter, I think they need to do that well in advance. They did fix up the Saginaw a bit in July, took her out of service for a couple weeks to do it. She looked WAY worse at the beginning of the season. I saw her in April or May and thought she looked ready to fall apart

Gues I need to move back up north and get used to the pleasures of the cold again (ha). There is an urban explorer (jail bait) called Alexplore that has a video of an illegal visit to C.T.C. #1, beautiful wood work around where the windows used to be in the pilot house. All the winches that he videoed appear to be steam winches, ought to be fun weighing anchor. Guess I'm not brave when I know I'm doing something wrong...couldn't believe this guy kept going towards a lighted area with running equipment.

Lol that’s not very smart. The fact that there was a lighted, powered area is very interesting however. I’ve heard rumors Lower Lakes/ Rand fleet is looking into potentially fixing her up and sailing her in some status, that they did a scrap assessment and surprisingly found the ship’s bones in decent condition despite the surface level decay. With Cuyahoga permanently out of commission following her fires, they’re in desperate need for another ship
