You save me so much time. I used to watch these top 10's and follow all the new games. Now I just watch you. If I like the game except for one or two details, your alternate recommandations have never failed me either. I was looking for a pretty game other than Azul, and now I am probably going to buy Noctiluca after watching your review!

This is such a perfect video to learn about how a game is played, and what makes it a good/bad game! I was searching for a board game channel, since it is one of my hobbies, and it seems I have found the one! Instantly subscribed. I work in a store that sells, among other things, board games. I'm sure your videos (that, I assume, are all as interesting as this one) will help me make recommendations to the clients. Thank you so much!

I think Sagrada maybe the tetris of boardgame, a casual, easy to learn game with simple yet, unique visuals that most people recognize as a must play at least once, but everyone almost never plays it constantly.

I played Sagrada with some friends a couple times at a local convention, back in the pre-plague days. It was both a lot of fun, and a game I don't think I'd want to play more than once a season. It's pretty, the mechanics are solid, the player powers change every game, all good things. The sticking point is also what I liked the game for - that while the first 3/4 of the game fly past very quickly, the final few rounds where everyone's suddenly struggling with a hellish puzzle of their own creation get exponentially longer. The main joy of those final rounds comes in both finding a way to slot dice into difficult pane spaces, and watching your friends tear their hair out trying to do the same, *but* it can end up taking so long (at least with the group I played with) that it can loop around to the dreaded feeling of "Please finish your turn so we can move on." It's a game I would absolutely rent at a game café or play if a friend owned, but not one I would buy, if that makes sense.

Totally makes sense to me, which is why its sitting on my "shelf of decisions" I have 4 shelves, "the permanent collection" of games I intend to keep for a long time. (Basically forever, unless a better game takes its place) "The shelf of opportunity" of unplayed games "The shelf of banishment" of the games I am about to sell and "The shelf of decisions" of games that I'm undecided about selling or keeping. Sagrada has been there for a year now.

I like this game quite a bit, but it does feel like a game of simultaneous solitaire. For this reason, one of my favorite ways to play is to set up 3 windows and take turns with myself to see if "me", "myself", or "I" wins the game. 😂

As attractive as it looks, I don’t think this will supplant Roll Player (and its expansions) with its D&D theme. It looks to me to be an excellent introductory game that provides the skills needed to get straight into games like Roll Player. Top review.

Did I misunderstand the rules or is should the blue 3 die in 1:56 not be able to be on the green spot below it? Love the video btw, great work as always

Ah you are correct. I was so focused on getting the right colours and numbers around that red 4. My error

Yeah, id love to post pop up corrections, because i may mistakes. That ones a little one, i was focused on making the red 4 the only option and just flipped a die over without paying too much attention. But i'd love to be able to just put a pop up to correct it. As i do it often enough. The only option is to take it down and reupload, and nope. I'll add a note to the pinned comment

Just bought sagrada and waiting for delivery. I'm curious to see how it works for my friends that love Azul and don't want to play anything else unless I force them too. Strangely enough they loved Cyclades...on the back of that bought as well titans exp ...with Sagrada...

Sagrada is an odd one for me. It has a lot i love about games. A tight decision space, levers you can pull to adjust your position, and both short and long term planning. Yet for some reason, it rarely hits the table. Azul, Noctiluca and Roll player always seem to step up ahead of it. So, while i like Sagrada, it just hasn't gotten the reps over the years i expected it to. What are some games you own like that. That you like, but they frequently end up being 2nd, 3rd or 4th choices in their own category.

I currently don't own anything like it, but I've recently backed Overlord: A Boss Monster Adventure, which seems like a fun little game too.

For me it’s the other way round. Sagrada’s hitting the table whilst Roll Player isn’t - the market, collecting sets of armour, etc just get in the way of the core dice game - Sagrada feels like the more streamlined game and is on a par with Azul.

Wow! Another great video. Sagrada is such a good looking game. I wonder how it compares to something like Azul. I know the two games have a lot of similarities. I've played Azul, so maybe I should give Sagrada a go now. Anyway, thank you for another great video... oh... and I watched all the ads and even clicked on links. I hope it gives you an extra penny / cent or two. :)

Definitely prefer Azul, but they do have a lot in common. Drafting, they look nice, and that ongoing tension of running out of space

Curious to hear other segradians opinion on this: on the chance that a violation is discovered. If there is a tool that can help correct it, should that be allowed if you have the favor tokens and it corrects the violation? instead of having to remove die and leave an open space?
