Something new in embroidering a leaf but besides being laborious, the leaf looks lumpy and fleshy. For a more artistic and neater look I would prefer to use leaf stitch or satin stitch.

I’ve proved, over many decades that I’m yet to master any skill in this beautiful skill. I can’t stitch a straight line even when it’s along a ruled line. That’s OK my life doesn’t require of me. My Mum did the most intricate needlework right up to the time she developed macular degeneration aged 85. If you looked at the back of anything she did, it was so exquisitely finished that it looked like an oil painting. I didn’t come to comment & blabber on although, watching you gave me a mountain of “Mum memories” so thank you for that. I thoroughly enjoyed watching each mindful stitch & when your thread almost formed a knot (which you dealt with) I had to smile because I didn’t think anyone else did that. Mum always told me that my thread was too long & created the problem. I still uses logic thread & yes, it does gets tangled. I was able to see part of your hand, they look very very capable. Thank you for the joy you've brought into my life and the gentle meditative state I was in, whilst watching you. thank you ♥️

I think it is meant to look like a more tropical leaf that has a contrast color in the center, they're very waxy, almost look plastic, unfortunately I can't remember the name ❤😅

Or, just reverse the needle like you did when doing the safety pin stitches. Much easier than trying to thread a sharp needle through all those loops.
