Amaran is good movie.. But why they fear to show major mukund community as a brahmin, but they have guts to show indu's community clearly?? Tamil film fraternity and tamil nadu should feel ashame of not showing real life background of an indian army major who bravely fought n died for this country against terrorism....

Couldn't agree more. This is a biopic and a movie made as a tribute to an inspirational martyr... his family background could & should have been retained in the movie as a matter of right and out of human interest - the makers would have risen in our eyes had they done that instead of changing the narrative and making it appear that the family wanted the braveheart to be portrayed only as an Indian and a Tamilian . The makers took the liberty of using a dialect of their choice to portray the Major's conversations with his family members and worse still Wikipedia removed his community name after the controversy - this is a dangerous trend. Just a few days back I had read the content in Wikipedia after the promo interviews started appearing and after seeing comments in two separate KZbin channels went back and checked Wikipedia & to my horror found it to be true . When Major Mukund Varadarajan's immediate family members be it his parents / sibling / spouse are so dignified and gracious , the makers should have had the courage of conviction to give credence to authenticity. They could have touched upon Major Mukund's evolving thoughts on equality & secularism in the movie itself while respecting his family background . We all grew up reading Amar Chitra Katha which stuck to the narratives and showed us that despite their various social backgrounds the great sons of our soil stood in solidarity when it came to patriotism... If the makers are not questioned now , the film would lack its authenticity for posterity and we would be doing injustice to both the family and future generations of viewers. I have not yet seen the movie and from what I read I can fully appreciate the efforts that have gone into its making and the positive impact the film is making on viewers. That is why it becomes all the more imperative to respect & retain authenticity for such an important story to be told .
