After watching your video and learning Pho Tau Bay has a location in Santa Ana, California I went there to try their pho. Though the Yelp reviews and pictures feature their Banh Cuon, I ordered their small pho dac biet and enjoyed it. Although the pho was served with bean sprouts, basil, and jalapeno slices, I did enjoy the clean and lightly seasoned broth. It was not sweet but still enjoyable. Inside their walls have pictures of restaurant in Vietnam.

Greatly appreciated Kelvin and thank you for sharing this with the community. I believe they are identical recipes to begin with but whether it still resembles that over there I can't comment. Uncle Khang did say you need to adjust it to suit your audience which may allude to this fact above. There were parts of the interview that never made it onto the video. One important plot twist was there was some sort of rift in the family which is why everyone went their separate ways (very common which is why I have my own store next to my sisters). There was also a trip advisor review I came across prior to shooting this video. I was doing research and it speaks about a "stolen" recipe which made its way to the U.S so this story does have merit although if it was stolen Uncle Khang would of came across angry, which he didn't.
