Wow... Mads... This is right about the time period that I started watching your videos... And minus the days you took off, I've spent a piece of my every Sunday with you since. And want to thank you so much for sharing your work and you time and your life with us all. It is a great pleasure to watch you work. And I know that I speak for everyone when I say how very proud of you we are and how thankful we are that you have allowed us to join you on your adventures in oh glorious sanding. Very spiffy indeed. Oh! More "Lookin' around with Ava" segments, please!

I like how the barbell weights finally see some active and useful service. (In my experience, they collect dust in a room despite my good intentions!)

Interesting, it looks very serviceable. I don't want carpet in a boat, wet, salty, yacky, no thanks, the fake teak looks good, washable, durable, good choice, now the question is, is there any fake teak maker, making it from recycled material?

Hi Mads, I am a big follower - I've learned loads over the years- so thanks for that! How have you found the ISITEEK product over time? Has it worn well and would you recommend it now. Hope all is going well. Cheers!

I found your channel when I was looking for info on the reflex stoves.... Got that and sooooo much more from your videos! Thank you! I have a skookum 34 pilothouse cutter which my father built from a bare hull. It is also of an age now that it needs a number of refits done. One is that I am removing the very ugly rugs and then I need do something with the not too attractive cabin sole. Like you I have thought about the synthetic teak as well as off the wall things like cork. I like the look of the isiteek you used. I am going to follow your example and do the small section in the forward cabin first once I find the materials. Oh and if you ever make it through the NW Passage turn left and come down to Seattle!

Did you use the Isiteek? On a update he said it wasnt as great later, mainly its hard to clean and he was considering removing it for real stuff.I recently used bamboo in a boat and it turned out super nice but if looking for the real boat look.Take a look into iroko, its almost identical to teak and less money/more environmentally sound choice and thats what we used on my dads 36 gulfstar trawler. We did a inlay with purple heart and it looks amazing. But the thing with iroko is you can use as thin of a strip as you can with teak, the dust can be VERY irritating while working it but that gets better with age.Oh and I wouldnt use it on a outside deck of any size because of weight and the grain.

blugrasssful Haha, I know ;) It looks a lot better in real life. On camera, it looks awful for some reason. That's one of the reasons you'll usually see me wearing one of four shirts while shooting video. Thanks, I do feel like I'm learning something new every time I upload a new video. It's so much fun :)

Sorry I missed you when you were in Austin. You have to call me next time your in town! You are dam near famous to all of us here! (Brian Richardson 512-217-8004) Will treat you to the town. I know if you are here it would be for work...but after that we will tour the town go to local pubs, and we can take you to some marinas. Thanks for taking the time to post all your improvements that you have put into your boat! It helps me to decide what I want to do with mine. Between work and my two kids it's hard to find the time, but I am making headway! Got inside and out repainted, new electrical (LED) ,walls and all teak refinished. Working on new cushions this month. My dream is the live aboard. But that will have to come later...... Sorry for such a long post. But really, keep it up! Keep the post coming! Best of luck to you, and Godspeed.

BrianWRichardson008 Thank you so much for such an awesome comment! :) I haven't actually been to Austin yet :) I'll be in Austin May 29 to June 5 (2015). If you can find the time I would love to meet up :) It would be awesome to check out some of the marinas! I can certainly understand why you're having a hard time finding time to do projects aboard your boat :) I'm single with no kids and I sometimes feel like it's hard to find the time. That you are able to do so with two kids is very impressive :)

Thank you so much! :) I would be tempted to ask how fiberglass, epoxy, and plywood is any more real than synthetic teak? ;) Having said that I won't be using synthetic teak inside a beat again. It seem's difficult to keep clean. I'm considering removing it and using real teak.

***** Epoxy, fiberglass and all other synthetic materials are more 'real', because they don't pretend to be what they are not.

Sail Life , I was wondering how this turned out after some wear and tear on the boat. Nice to know you found it hard to clean. Just a suggestion but If you ever need a quick easy video a review of past products would be cool.
