Great Videos, Love them! Just out of curiosity, a new Yanmar 3YM30 cost about €11.000, so doubling your costs on the spare parts, you have 2 brand new engines, and you could sell the old ones? just wondering...

If the bolts are steel use phosphoric acid as your penetrating syrum. It will break the iron rust from the aluminium oxide without damaging the aluminium. If it's still stuck after a day then add baking powder to remove the aluminium oxide once unstuck clean thoroughly with a week vinegar solution. This is the only way to do this without drilling and tapping which is not easy as the outside is softer than the bolt. I use phosphoric acid and oil for unceasing motors works perfectly. Goodluck

Q&A - what went into determining the layout of the electronics in Athena? That could be a long answer, of course, but I’m interested in your thoughts.

Became a real fan of your content a while ago..... My Q&A is of course the 65 million $$ question? When do you think the hull/s (timeline) will be back in the water? Keep up the great work, watching from the yachting capital of the south pacific - Auckland, NZ 👍🏼😎

For the stuck bolt in the heat exchanger...heat the body and cool the bolt. For cooling down the bolt you can use a compressed air can upside down. The delta in the temperature will make the body part expand and the bolt contract just enough to unstuck them a little bit

Q&A I'd be interested in a little more in-depth video on how you do the bracket to CAD model. I don't have a need for metal done that way, but to be able to take an item and quickly and easily get it into a CAD package and shaped up to then export for 3D printing would be useful

Q&A - I would like to see a bit of a tour of the hulls (inside and out) and the patched area. Also your ideas / views on what needs to be done to get them up to paint stage and the type of work needed (also time). It would be great to also cover your ideas on when you could splash her and continue working on it (assuming you want to leave the yard asap).

I have drilled studs out with a drill press after careful alignment of the offending article ie plumb and centred on the stud hole with the casting well clamped. Then drill at a dia somewhat less than the minor thread dia taking it in small bites and inspecting as you go. The depth can be determined by measuring one of the other holes then once at the bottom carefully collapse the remaining core inwards with a punch to break it clear from the casting then remove with needle nose pliers or vice grips. Clean up with a plug tap etc etc . Yanmar probably follow the "Sweet heart Deal" with parts as do Volvo and even aero engine makers , ie they make little margin on the initial sale but screw you on parts for the service life of the engine.

QnA, 1) what are you planning for the mast/rigging? 2) 3d print: have you considered 3d printing with metals and other composites, I mean designing and ordering like you did for the bracket?

Q&A: I've always been curious about how much you've spent on shipping for your builds. Do you factor shipping costs into your decisions, such as combining orders to qualify for free shipping, or do you see it as just a cost of convenience and doing business?

Tramp ramp looks great. Have you thought about printing a few parts in carbon fibre and infusing resin. It's on my agenda, but I haven't gotten around to it yet as the hot bed on my printer is acting up.
