I spent 22 days on the Silhouette in April/May. I did not have any issues with wait times for meals. I have found sometimes like any restaurant you get a bad server, the next night you tell the hostess to not sit you with that server...sometimes they might be short staffed...people sice or just short, it happens. You can't compare the Soltice class ships to the Edge class ships. I love the Edge class ships, but they are newer and they are pricier. I'll take the Soltice class ship to make my money go further. I cruise 10-15 cruise per year on Celebrity and not changing anytime soon.

We can compare, and we did. They’re two different classes of ship which offer different types of cruising experience. In our belief, the Edge-class has the edge (excuse the pun). Glad you didn’t have any issues :)

Love the laid back, relaxing calm of Silhouette. Food always been topnotch. Can't complain.

Well done with the review. We are on this ship in a couple of months out of Barcelona to Florida. This will be the 7th celebrity ship I’ve sailed. I have noticed a decline in quality of food and portions in the main dining room over the years. We actually had dinner several times in the buffet because the food was tastier and we did not have to sit through almost 2 hrs to finish our dinner in the main. Celebrity is getting more and more expensive and is offering less and less. Celebrity is not a 5.5 star line it’s barely a 5 star. We will be on the Regent Navigator in April, Florida to Lisbon. We got a hell of a deal better than Celebrity could offer. No nickel and dimming on the Regent

Hey Gents, excellent stuff. I do like your reviews of celebrity ships, I love the outer decks even on these older ships! Interesting that it’s very inward facing very royal and vegas style! Those prices for drinks packages oh my. Think I will stick to water and tea 🤣

We enjoy the casual upscale feel of the Solstice class ships - and actually appreciate the leisurely paced dining in the main dining room, often the highlight of the day, where we can relax with a couple glasses of wine, and enjoy each other's company. If we were in and out of there in less than an hour, I would feel cheated! We are done with Tuscan Grill also - very nice atmosphere, but always disappointed with the food. Murano has always been the better choice.

Excellent video. The difference between Solstice Class ships and Edge Class ships is extraordinary. The bathroom on Edge Class ships are by far the BEST in the industry particularly by size. Celebrity ships are so different nowadays you just can't compare. It's almost like its 3 different cruise lines in one. Premium is NOT the right word to describe Celebrity these days. Nickle and Dimeing occurs far too much. Food is great as long as you aren't a foodie. As you mentioned service can be hit and miss. Agreed it's still a great cruise line to try.

Excellent video! I was on the Silhouette back in December. I found the service to be fantastic, maybe a bit slow in the main dining room, but within that acceptable range. I'm definitely looking forward to checking out some of Celebrity's other ships in the future

I went on the Edge last year, this ship reminds me of the Equinox which I did back in 2013. I don't do special dining and only buffet so I'm sure I won''t have issues. I'm going on Spain, France and Portugal end of August, solo. The Edge was really nice, especially with nice places to sit outside and enjoying the ocean view.

Great review, the ship does look lovely but we’d have been annoyed at the wait times in those restaurants. This drinks package prices are a bit eye watering for us ‘tight Brit’s’ too!

Hello, thanks for watching. Yes, there are a selection of different teas available from the Oceanview Café. You'll find an even wider variety at Café Il Bacio, but a supplement is required :) hope that helps!

i imagine a lot of attention must be paid to "merely" cosmetic fixes like light bulbs in the public spaces going out. the amount of spare parts like plumbing, cabin tvs, must be huge since it wouldn't do to look shabby until getting into port...(or..do they? i've never been on a cruise let alone seeing how something going out in a main lobby area is fixed during a trip). i wonder if there's a dynamic list of parts they'll need but don't have being kept at the next big port so that it can be delivered as soon as they dock...

When I was on the silhouette, they offered the $10 alcohol plan for 2 people at the price of the softdrink plan, so $500 per person.

I'll take a Solstice class ship any day over the IMO overrated Edge class ships. What you say is dark an dingy I think is rich and warm. I much prefer the intimacy of the spaces on the Solstice ship. The Edge ships have allotted areas of the ships to suite-only passengers, deleted the library, card room and most important, Sky observation lounge. I think what you are calling "traditional" decor is more Celebrity's style of doing 20s to 60s art-deco inspired interiors that evoke that period rather than the rather trendy taupe and paler colors utilized on the Edge class. Areas of that ship could be on any cruise ship IMO. I just think the lack of a real nice lounge on the Edge class, and "the Club" is not it, is what lets it down while it has too many restaurants and shops where there could be more social areas that aren't tiered. The Martini Bar is totally different on the Edge ships than the chic club feel it has on the Solstice ships even if both have juggling bartenders. Sadly, didn't sound like the service was up to par on your sailing but that's more the fault of the crew at the time of your sailing than the physical ship. The shows quality may be the same, unless it's a show relying on the tech in the theater on the Edge class. tbh, I have zero interest in the Edge class and hopefully, Celebrity goes back to some of the qualities of the Solstice class in their next class of ships. But I'm not holding my breath.

My issue with drink packages is that you still have to pay for the gratuity on each drink you order. If you are buying it to help you budget, it doesn't do that.

If you have a drink package, you don't have to pay additional tip per drink. There's nothing added by the bars or restaurants per drink. You paid the gratuities included with the package price.
