Happy Holidays to a jolly boat family! As you wax poetic, I'm happy you come back to realize how fortunate you are for taking the plunge of freedom and home ownership in warm places of your choice... keep on sculpting, we love it! Did the deworm do the trick???

I remember a time when $90/week was considered expensive for renting a room in a share house ..... there will be a time when $900/week will be considered cheap unless the currencies are revalued first..... the longer your out of the rental market the more shocking the rents will seem, the more happy you'll be you own your boat. I also remember when diesel was 20c/litre, cause I'm old 🤣 But you and Robbie are doing great 👍I love your videos and love what you're doing 👍

Thanks. That was inspiring. I know what it's like to finally get momentum going on a project only to be stopped by the weather. Good old inertia. I'm looking forward to seeing your windows. Happy holidays!

Cheers! Thank you for the kind words - Robi's currently on his way to one of the islands out there (not sure which one) - maybe he will say aloha as he sails through! Take care!

wouldn't be a boat job like just screwing in a screw if it didn't involve a snapped bit and a trip to the hardware shop. 5 min into 2 hours... know the feeling all too well

Hi Guys...🇨🇦 Well, can I make myself understood? Defenestration would not be the correct title, the correct thing would be: Ideas, changes and successes, which adds and causes well-being and blessing in the future. You have to put an AMERICAN (continental) mentality and Canadian flavor to the strategies. P.S. Well done.
@sailoramaАй бұрын
The title is something like - I feel like throwing everything out the window, but then I continue on making windows, which is changes/hopefulness/possible good things in the future 🙂 Thank you! Cheers!

I always knew sailors made a wise choice by living the sailboat life, especially with the coming economic downturn. As someone who loves to follow politics and economics I would really advise you guys to buy as much storable foods as you can afford to buy now. Just store up on all the basics, as much as your budget allows the next few weeks and months. Just basic stuff like rice, beans, lentils, pasta, nuts, seeds (for sprouting/ fresh salads) sugar, chocolate/ cacao, spices, flours, milk powder, egg powder etc.. Milk powder is for instance great to make milk and then turn it into rice pudding or plain yogurt with some existing yogurt culture/ a spoon full of old yogurt . They even have a special yogurt making container to make it from warm milk in the evening for fresh yogurt in the morning. And yogurt could be a great daily breakfast with fruit, muesli etc. But also maybe some extra canned meats, vegetables and animal fats like lard, ghee and butter combined with coconut and olive oils etc. Just so you can buy some cheap locally grown fruits or vegetables and maybe catch some fish but still have enough basic ingredients to make a full and satisfying meal whilst getting in enough calories. But maybe with excess fish it’s nice to also be able to put it into cans or jars. Don’t know how busy you guys are, what the plans are and like I said what your financial situation allow you to spend/ do. But believe me if I say that you won’t regret having bought a year and preferably two years of basic food supplies if that’s in the budget and if it’s even possible to store on your boot? But simply counted, two years, 730 days times 5000 calories, an average intake a day for two people/ male plus female, a total of 3.650.000 calories and a bit much maybe to store on a boat this size? So maybe aim for a year of/ 1.825.000 calories, or as much as possible? I just highly recommend to look into stocking up on food supplies and simply because it’s highly recommended by the most accurate and most independent and internationally renowned forecasting agency “Princeton Economics”. They have a terrific forecasting track record, a history you can check yourself, and they are forecasting continuously growing inflation especially food prices. This is due to severe cyclically accruing droughts in 2025 & 2026 in the U.S. and Canada combined with supply chain shortages. www.armstrongeconomics.com/armstrongeconomics101/inflation/food-inflation-on-the-rise/
@sailoramaАй бұрын
I agree that the economic forecast is generally grim. I would love to have more food stocked up. However, we're behind in that step - we're still trying to secure drinking water. Our main goal is to get a desalinator onboard 👍🏼
