Sailboat Docking Maneuvers 180 degree turn at slip with 2kt ebb tide

Sailboat Docking Maneuver, 180 degree turn at slip with 2kt ebb tide. Boat is 50ft long with single rudder and fixed 3 blade prop with bowthruster. Start turn and use full starboard bowthruster, power up in foward gear. Stern walks to port in reverse, use full reverse half way through turn to bring boat to stop and pull towards dock. Once the boat has slowed and stern to current, you use a little reverse and the rudder to steer towards or away from dock as you back up. The current is your friend as long as you are not beam to.

2 knot ebb tide my arse. If there was that much current in there every boat and piling would be shedding a sizable wake and huge turbulence but they're not and the water is glassy.

It gets up to 4 knots at the city marina. 2kts is slow. I have docked that boat there over 2000 times, you think i would know over some armchair sailor.

With the word "Sailboat" in the title one expected to see docking under sail. Very disappointing. Also, with bow thruster and fixed prop, aided by a tidal current apparently pushing the vessel onto the dock, one assumes mauiboy is not bragging or showing off because there is nothing to brag about. Bona fides; ten years sailing, and docking, on San Francisco Bay, though on nothing as snazzy as a Benteau (Beneteau?) 49. A bow thruster? Jeez!
