About a month ago, the beautiful small sailboat washed up on the shore at Sunset Beach in Cape May, New Jersey. Come along as we take a quick 5 minute tour of the boat, as well as the legendary Cape May "Ghost Tracks". The Ghost Tracks were railroad tracks from the Cape May Sand and Gravel Company as they mined sand from the beach here. All this just happens to be right by the wreck of the concrete ship "Atlantus".

Ran into you today and it reminded me to check out the last few videos I missed. Surprised to see this here even more so because this ship actually was on fire due to arson this morning 12/12/23 and I was one of the responding firefighters on the beach. VERY small world.

Loved this even if it was short - that doesn't matter when your content and presentation is always excellent and I don't like to miss a single video. I live by the Coast in the UK and your video made me think of the two most amazing things that has turned up on our beach; a injured/dead Finn Whale 2023 and a shipping container back in 1996 full of boxes of Royals cigarettes, but no boats. 😀👍❤⚓

I find it unfortunate that people have taken thing's from this boat, was surprised to see the batteries were left intact. They should put up a sign stating that it will be retrieved, and add a post about no looting, and that police action will be taken. I really enjoy the long video's, but i will watch any video, because you stick with facts, and don't say anything that could cause controversy, or put someone in a bad light when all the facts aren't in. G-d bless you, your wife, and young son.

It's a shame she's just being neglected that's a very nice boat in most any conditions. I'm sure owner is just sick seeing her aground and vandals stealing from her. How ironc That a ferro cement boat would return back to its beach. I enjoyed the video very much even if it was shorter than usual. It still had all the details you Always bring to your video's. Thank you for another great story.

A little maritime story I heard about regarding the USS Merrimack/CSS Virginia. The coal that was used on the infamous Confederate Ironclad that fought the USS Monitor in Hampton Roads during the Peninsula Campaign of 1863. The coal is said to have been mined out of Southwest Virginia. The name of that place? Merrimac, VA. A little cove hallow in Montgomery County, VA. Just outside of Blacksburg, VA. Ironic huh? 🖖😏👍

It would be interesting to see and try to explore the area where the mill itself was, rather than just the tracks. But if I was there, I would definitely try to be digging out those tracks to a fair extent, to see more of it, you and if it is just merely the ties.

I live in a rural area and many things are just left. I need a dog house. But i just can't waltz into a property and take one. It seems wrong to me. I plan on going to the court house to find out the owners of the land and ask. I guess I was brought up differently or just have a conscience. That poor boat. Its Probaby going to be scrapped. 😢

I don't know how to message you but I was wondering if you could briefly comment on the designation of SS and RMS. I am looking up about the SS Adriatic, a ship that my great uncle and his wife were on in 1912? But I know there was an RMS Adriatic at the same time too... Just confused.
@outoftheforest7652
@outoftheforest7652 5 ай бұрын
Because I think the RMS Adriatic had some connection with the Titanic?
@PartTimeExplorer
@PartTimeExplorer 5 ай бұрын
Adriatic was owned by the White Star Line - the same company that owned the Titanic, and it was sailing at the same time as Titanic. SS Adriatic and RMS Adriatic are the same ship. The White Star Line owned another ship called the Adriatic earlier in its operations and it was the sister of the Atlantic, but it no longer existed at the time of the Titanic, so you're looking at the second Adriatic for your family. SS stands for Steamship, so all steamships are "SS". RMS stands for Royal Mail Ship, which only some ships were and it was prestigious, so they preferred that designation if they got it. It's like how all guys are Mr., but only some are Dr. or Col. or whatever. So, Adriatic was SS, but it was also RMS - like just about all White Star Line ships of the time. This is your ship: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RMS_Adriatic_(1906)
