HAPPY VALENTINES DAY. In this episode, we tell you all about our new dinghy and how we found removable, affordable dinghy davits. Yeah!

Hi, I would be very concerned about your method of securing your new Davit to and through the deck. In my opinion you should seal the glass / Wooden core walls of the larger hole with epoxy. Then where you drilled the 4 holes through the deck, drill well oversize, fill completely with epoxy, then re drill to correct size to accept the securing bolts. Then go ahead and seal it. With the weight of the dingy and motor, there may be some tension on those fittings and over time, they may leak and rot out the core of your deck around the fitting. All the best

Thanks guys! 🥰 It does make a big difference. So happy that you sold us the green machine. Good name, BTW. Maybe we'll call it that. Or 'The Hulk'! 😂😂😂

Thank you Eric! It's another great upgrade, but I (Kathi) will also miss the old dinghy. 😢 See you next week!

Hi there. The davids construction is leading to disaster, as the wood deck will soon give way to the screws. The solution is simple: weld a stainless steel tube to the underside of the short tube holding the davits. The tube should reach the inside hull down below. Then glass the lowest 20cm of the tube to the inner hull with lost of glass mats. Ideally also glass the upper side of your current tube to the underside of the deck. Good luck and regards from Switzerland, Silvano

Normally davits look terrible but your look good. Love the idea they are removable. Thanks for sharing.

That's how I (Kathi) feel about davits. Installing dinghy davits never made a boat look more pretty (in my opinion), but the fact that we can now remove ours, made the decision very easy. 😉

It does make a huge difference! All the extra space on the deck will be so nice when we're anchoring. We are really looking forward to that! 🥳

Thank you for the video! Which dinghy davits did you buy? Brand? Link? Have you had any trouble with them? Anything you would do differently?

Consider replacing the SINGLE blocks with TRIPLES. They make LIFTING your dinghy REALLY REALLY easy.
