Maya's ability to showcase Aladino's superb workmanship, as well as her ability to produce a weekly "television" program on KZbin, tells viewers a wonderful story, the story of how they both gave new life to a sailing vessel whose rebirth unfolded before our eyes! As much as I love watching Maya and Aladino give birth to their "child", I am really looking forward to videos when they sail this beautiful blue water vessel around the world! The sense of knowing every inch of Magic Carpet II and her lovable crew, heightens the viewer's feeling of actually being on board during their adventures,

Nice scarfing job, tough to pull off. One thing I learned from a British master carver is to polish to a bright finish the chisel surfaces finishing the sharpening with a 3000 to 6000 water stone. It’s amazing how polished chisel faces glide through wood with almost no effort. I don’t do enough wood work to justify having that knowledge, but wish i had more time for doing that. I’m super impressed with the pace of the work, you both are forging along at bullet pace. I also enjoy how Aladino seems to be having a lot more fun these days.

Wow ! Yep, I agree, being a retired home renovation ' Carpenter ' NOT an ' installer ' !! I have worked on 1812 homes in Niagara on the Lake, and newer homes all around southern Ontario. I can see a craftsman by his attention to his/her ,eye, thought, foresight, where, you want to be when you are finished. And we know, we're never really quite finished, aauuuggg !! Gotta stop ! Stay healthy, stay safe, stay together. I want to see you both in the South Pacific. Enjoying your work and your life.

OMG! Watching that king plank go into place was a thing of beauty! I had to rewind several times. Another thing that really cracked this episode home was the track "Tennessee On My Mind" by Will Harrison playing in the background. I enjoyed your discussion and demonstration of tool choice. Quality of the tool, comfort with the tool, the unique requirements of the task at hand... Scarfing with track saw, chisel, multitool, sandpaper. Personally, I may have added a block plane to the mix. I'm teaching my daughter (in her 40's) woodworking at the moment and I have to keep reminding myself to slow down, explain the thought process, make tool choices based on experience and comfort level. It's great that you are trying to speak to a broad audience.
